As promised: Gamespot's CES MGS4 Demonstration

This is the first really skilled gameplay I've seen since the 10-minute Kojima demo. It actually looks like the whole moveset will be useful this time around, gotta love the fluidity between hostage CQC'ing one soldier and grabbing onto the next. In MGS2/3 there would have been a nasty delay before you could react to the next guy. Shooting from third person without a disorientating drastic viewpoint change - awesome. Gotta love the hit and death animations too.

Speedy switching from crawling to crouch-running to running. Woo!

wow im sorry but sony wins after this games out, and i say that with confidence this is the game that will wake up japan. i see sales in japan going from 50,000 a week right up to 200,000 and more when this game is out, same for everywhere else, and the sales spike will continue for the rest of the year because of all the othere AAA games that comes right after this. anybody can quote me,, pinky swear, make a bet , a promis or whatever, this is whats gonna happen, everybody sit back and watch .

i personally like the original metal gear the best. it had the best characters, best story, at the time pretty decent graphics, and not to mention snake in a freakin tux. i think MGS4 will be my 2nd favorite tho.

MGS4 will definitely come Q2 / 2008 according to Kojima-san himself.

He´s feeling sorry for delaying this title to 2008, because he´s actually a man who stands to his words.

• The game is in a advanced stadium, you can play it from the beginning till the End

• The Intro isn´t finished yet, but according to Kojima Productions, the Intro Video will be something what you´ve never seen before.

• You can pause the sequences

• No concrete release

Here´s the complete PODCAST

As a user interface connoisseur I'm really looking forward to MGS4's menus and this introduction sequence Ryan speaks so much of. I'll have to listen to that podcast later.

Metal Gear Solid 4 at Bug Testing Phase: No Further Delays

"The whole team and Kojima himself are committed to Q2 2008. Ryan even tells us that Kojima was embarrassed by the slip to 2008 and that he doesn’t want to further delay the game."

Ok. Now tell me, when the heck is Q2. I want a firm date dammit!!

Just listening to the Kojima Productions report, no MGS4 demo (surprise, surprise, they already made this very clear) and we should start seeing some coverage of Metal Gear Online in the next few weeks/month. The contents of the MGO Starter Pack in MGS4 should be revealed and new maps will be shown.

Starter Pack? So MGO will be sold separately then? I thought they were going to bundle it?

MGS4 comes with the MGO starter pack. How much is in that starter pack isn't clear yet, whether you buy the rest of MGO by adding onto the starter pack with downloadable content, or if there's going to be an entire seperate Blu-ray based Metal Gear Online, or both, hasn't been made clear yet.

Ah-- gotcha. I really hope it's downloadable. I'll probably be playing both of these games a ton, and I would have to switch between discs.

Same here I would like it like those games where you have the starter pack for free and then you pay for the rest as a download. Hopeing for it cheap £25 please
