Zone 2,3 etc on Onkyo 805

Can someone explain to me what the Zone 2 & 3 options are for on my Onkyo and how they work? I sort of have a basic understanding like the zone 2 & 3 can be in a different room I think? Can someone elaborate? Thanks!

additional zones can be set up in additional rooms, ie bedroom, patio, etc
each will only get a 2 ch feed, and most amps take the 7.1 amps ( last two channels ) when utilized. so main feed is only 5.1...
