Eventually, all of them.

I'd venture to say I won't be replacing more than 10%. It will be an eternity if ever before most of the stuff I watch gets a hidef release. It's all too banged up & in mono for the most part.

I don't plan to repurchase the following SD DVD I own:

Film:

The Thin Man Collection - Good movies, but it just isn't going to happen

The Blade Trilogy - I watch these films rarely and therefore can't justify

The Jay and Silent Bob Anthology - Amusing films, but I don't see the need to upgrade them

Chicken Run

Coneheads

Darby O'Gill and the Little People

The William Powell and Myrna Loy Collection - See "The Thin Man Collection"

The Emperor's New Groove

The Goonies

The Great Ziegfeld

I'm Gonna Git You Sucka

It's a Wonderful Life - I might reconsider this one

Libeled Lady

Mighty Joe Young - The original from 1949

Miracle on 34th Street - Again, I might reconsider this one

Office Space

Shaun of the Dead

Shrek 1 and 2 - 3 was atrocious

So I Married an Axe Murderer - Iiiiif you want my body and ya think I'm sexy c'mon baby let me know! PIPER SOLO!!

Son of Kong - No. Just... No.

Anything Star Wars - I'm sorry, but if a pristine GREAT transfer of the ORIGINAL films are not included, I refuse to buy it. None of this Laser-Disc "that's all that's left" crap, Lucas. I refuse to buy any more Star Wars on home video until this is done.

UHF

The Wallace and Gromit Series + Movie

The War of the Worlds - Produced by Pendragon Productions, it was an attempt to follow the novel as close as possible. The production value is low, but I think it's the best adaptation out of all of the attempts.

Wayne's World 1 & 2 - Amusing films, but no dice

White Christmas - I bought this in a 2-pack with "It's a Wonderful Life" and never watched it

The X-Men Series - 3 soured my taste for this series so much that I won't upgrade any of them

TV:

Babylon 5 + Movies + Crusade - I MIGHT reconsider this stance, but it'd have to have some major upgrades

Star Trek TOS - Nope, I like my original unedited DVDs

Star Trek TNG - Maybe, but they'd have to do a major overhaul on the video quality

Star Trek DS9 - See above

Anime - It's hard to say, but I think my general feeling is "No upgrades" unless it's something I really loved

Now, with all of this being said, I have a decent amount of movies that I will replace in a heartbeat. Those are:

Jaws, E.T. (only if the ORIGINAL is included), Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, The Lord of the Rings: Extended Editions, the Pixar movies, Indiana Jones 1-3, the Star Trek movies, the Man with No Name trilogy (aka the Sergio Leone Anthology that Fox/MGM recently released on SD DVD), King Kong (the original - None of that ape-woman love crap from the 2005 release or that 70's one!), Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Tron, The Quiet Man, Seven Samurai, The Wizard of OZ, Gone with the Wind, The Great Escape, the Back to the Future trilogy, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and The Princess Bride.

I'll replace all. If I keep a dvd means I watch it and I like it. So, BD will only improve the experience.

I'll be getting the remastered Star Trek: TOS, because it just sounds so awsome. But other than that, yeh, probably no point in replacing the SD TV.

I will replace them all with great joy to do so.

Particularly favorites like Earth Girls Are Easy or Batman Returns.

If it was worth buying on DVD,.. it's worth buying on Blu Ray.

And I usually get a few dollars back for the DVD and the Blu Rays can be found on sale so,.. It's cheap to upgrade them. I think most of my 72 Blu Rays are titles I already had on DVD.

I have two kids so I will end up having to replace most if not all of my sdvd's.
It will be due to wear and tear most likely.
