Default What percentage of your collection are imports

I thought it would be interesting to find out which kind of habits users here have towards imports.

I'll start with myself, first most of my collection are imports, but that's only because I used to buy a lot from amazon.com and being from Canada it would be an import, but I won't count those as often the US releases are the same as Canadians releases ( We actually have more exclusive releases than the US )

But not counting US discs I own
3 Italian imports (all exclusives)
5 French imports (all exclusives)
34 UK imports (5 or 6 exclusives)

I'm at 17.8 % so I indicated 15%, what about you

The only things imported in my house are beer, whiskey, wine and cigars. Will never buy a disc from overseas no matter how long I have to wait for it to come out here

So far 22 Blus out of 78 are imports (20 UK, 1 Canadian, 1 French) which, it turns out, is about 28%. Of the 22, 16 are currently not available in the US last I checked, and then there is Wanted & The Dark Knight which I imported specifically because they are Steelbooks.

Air Force One UK Import [Blu-ray]
American Psycho Australian Import [Blu-Ray]
Escape From New York UK Import [Blu-ray]
Kill Bill Vol. 1 Canadian Import [Blu-ray]
Kill Bill Vol. 2 Canadian Import [Blu-ray]
Neverending Story, The Dutch Import [Blu-ray]
Predator 2 UK Import [Blu-ray]
Sin City Canadian Import [Blu-ray]
Terminator 2 Judgement Day Japanese Import [Blu-ray]
The Dark Knight Canadian Import [Blu-ray]
Total Recall UK Import [Blu-ray]

I have 144 Blu-rays so 11 imports divided by 144 multiplied by 100 equals about 7.6%.

I have 229 HD movies when I add my HD-DVDs.

Elephant Man, The French Import [HD-DVD]
Equilibrium Japanese Import [HD-DVD]
Fog, The French Import [HD-DVD]
Graduate, The Dutch Import [HD-DVD]
Island, The UK Import [HD-DVD]
Mulholland Drive French Import [HD-DVD]
Star Trek The Original Series Canadian Import [DVD & HD-DVD Combo]

7 HD-DVD imports plus 11 Blu-ray imports divided by 229 total HD movies multiplied by 100 equals about 7.9%.

I'll use the 10% as my answer since 7.6% is closer to 10% than 5%.

Currently 61% of my imports are not available in the US although I think Predator 2 has been announced for a June release in the US.

I think the reasons why I imported some titles was because (1) Most of these titles are not available in the US and I wanted them, (2) sometimes the import discs have better transfers, and (3) I was able to get some titles cheaper outside the US.

All of them as I live in Spain, have a region A player and not willing to pay the high prices of Blu-ray movies have in Spain. I'm not interested in watching the film (and I'm Spanish) duubed to Spanish either.

None for me... I wish the USA could get a release of The Island. Is this a region free title?

Yes. I happen to own it and it looks very good. It only has lossy audio though.

90% are US imports, but increasingly I'm buying UK discs as prices are dropping.
