Same here. Sorting by studio is much better the alphabetical.

+1. Organized by studio then by alphabetical title makes the most sense and looks the best on the shelf.

I just got this stand yesterday, was up 'til 2 am this morning putting it together and getting everything set. It's the Atlantic 1080. Got it from Wayfair.com for $129 shipped. Really happy with it so far. I even have room for my movie soundtracks, and my CD's from Chevelle (Hats Off to the Bull is AMAZING), The Killers, and of course Smashing Pumpkins. Those are my deluxe copies of Gish and Siamese Dream on the top shelf. Been waiting on this shelf to share my pics
I was going to congratulate you on those, one of the best re-issues of the year! Can't wait to get my copies.

If my wife wants to find a movie she just tells me what she wants to watch and I go get it. If I am not home she'll call/text me and I'll tell her exactly where it is. Small price to pay for them to look 10 times better on the shelf.

I like to do studio, then color. If I had as many Blu-rays as you I would probably have to do alphabetical though.

I experimented with matching the colors up, but yeah with so many titles it made finding them more difficult.

my hierarchy kinda breaks down into slips and non slips, then by studio, then blu ray logo orientation/spine color/
whatever other logos might be on the spine. and if I can somehow fit in alphabetization in there too, ill do that.
But yeah, the more I buy the harder this becomes to make everything 'fit'. Almost every time I buy a new movie
it's like fitting it into a puzzle on my shelf

I would rather not be bothered when she wants a movie. Evidently that bothers me more than how they would look organized by studio.

I have tried sorting my collection in all sorts of ways, studios, genres, directors, actors, colors, i've pretty much tried em all. Then about ~6 months ago I decided to try alphabetizing them and I love it! With ~150 blu-rays the other sorting methods were ok but with over 500, no way. The funny thing is, ever since I started collecting DVDs back in ~1997 I have never alphabetized my collections so this is the first time in my life that I have tried this and after having them alphabetized for awhile now, one thing is for certain... I will NEVER go back to any other sorting method.

It doesn't bother me at all. I am like a biological movie library or at least I have been called that.

All my TV shows are on top and alphabetized and all the movies are in the big case below and alphabetized.(except for Ben-Hur) Works out nice because TV shows are on top in DVD Profiler as well, the first 44 are TV shows.(how? I changed the sorting names in DVD profiler.)
Oh and also the 007/James Bond movies are alphabetized under "007" so before "A" , the first 13 movies on my rack and in DVD Profiler are my 007 movies.

If you are curious the fireplace gets warm on top but not hot and that little guy (propane BTW) heats my entire ~1000sf home.
