I'm not sure Cuba Gooding is a good choice for a leading man. He has pretty become a "B" movie star. He has tons of direct to video stuff in recent years, and not the good direct to video. I'm talking the type with horrible acting and weak story lines.

I hope Cuba and Howard are just minor supporting characters but that's a long shot.

How inconvenient that it's coming out in January, instead of February, which is Black History Month.

And the King holiday is the week before it opens. Is your calendar busted?

Although this film looks awful, I will now certainly boycott watching this film in the theater or on home video due to Lucas messing around again with the original Star Wars trilogy. Anyone else going to boycott this film?

I doubt that boycotting this film will do any difference, if this ffilm flops, he's more likely to go back to more Star Wars stuff and changing it around to get his money that he lost on this one, boycott the 3D re-releases, not this, if anything, it'll convince him to leave Star Wars alone and do other things.

Changes where awful though, I agree. Ewok's blinking is a sight no man should see.

You're full of it too. Boring as Hell??? Are you kidding me??? Seat-of-your-pants WWII aerial combat using state-of-the-art CG (finally) to represent actual WWII aircraft and not mocked up versions of P-40s for Bf-109s (*ahem* Memphis Belle *ahem*)

So what if it's Lucasfilm...what makes you think he's going to be directing or writing the thing? To me, all that says is the ILM is the main effects house.

The thing is if this film does well, it could spawn several new WWII films that use CG to show authenic WWII equipment. The thing about WWII films, including Private Ryan and Band of Brothers is that for those of us WWII history buffs recognize when the tanks and planes used aren't accurate and are just mock-ups made from old Soviet equipment. ex. Tiger tanks in Private Ryan were modified Russian T-34s. How to tell? Road wheel configuration. Small front wheel and large single wheels down the bottom....Tiger tanks had large wheels in front with overlapping wheels along the bottom.

I'm sorry, but this looks like it could be one of the corniest movies ever made. What would possess a person to pay money to see this movie?

So you'd rather watch something that's completely fake, but more "authentic," than a movie that tries it's best to be real under the constraints of real life? IMO, real tanks (however flawed and different from the originals) are always gonna be more authentic and immerssive than some CGI bull. Know why? Cuz they're real.
Anyways, there's just a small fraction of a percent of a percent of people who can tell the difference between the buttons on a uniform and all that crap.

Inglorious Basterds was a farce too, but it didn't stop it from being a good movie. I just want to have a good time at the theater. And I'm sure that's what I'll get with this. Nothing more, nothing less.

The real reason it's being released late January is because February is Black History month, duh.

I just don't understand all these nazi movies. It's a trend in Hollywood that is now bordering on a Jewish conspiracy. What about all the other conflicts? Do you know that we helped train and flew with Chinese pilots in the 1930's against Japan? American pilots were discharged from the air corp and hired as instructors long before pearl harbor. I maybe ranting here but I would like to see a different enemy or battle from another war. Korea, Vietnam, etc... instead we get the same old conflict over and over again.

What type of ignorant post is this? Are you saying this because they're black? This is not the first war movie about african americans. This movie is hardly getting any notice probably because of that reason alone. Not to mention from this forum. But movies like flyboys are ok. 99% of the members here are probably caucasian so not really surprising.

White america needs to get over themselves.

The world really needs to end this year.

A movie with Method Man and Ne-Yo being labeled hip-hop? Also Flyboys had a French African as one of the leads. So you have no argument there. I could care less who the actors in the movie are it still looks stupid.
