No, what he is saying is this...

If you connect any of your A/V components (DVD player, satellite, PS3, Xbox360, etc) using COMPONENT CABLES (the red/green/blue), the receiver will only upconvert the video from that connection to 720p.

The Onkyo 805 on the other hand, will take ALL connections (Composite [yellow], S-Video, and Component) and upconvert those to 1080p, so long as the receiver is outputting all of those video signals through an HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV.

So, with any A/V unit connected to the 705 (including the PS3) with an HDMI cable, and the receiver connected to the TV with an HDMI cable, you will be getting a 1080p video output. Any other connection into the receiver will only be output to the TV at 720p.
