Any word on the Resident Evil:Retribution poster? I saw this one posted online a while back. I am really hopeing this is not the real one. I like the whole logo in the water but the rest of it kind of sucks. I still need to find the first two resident evil posters.

Ordered the Prometheus poster on ebay, $30... I said I was done with collecting but I couldn't help it this time.
the only other posters I really want this year are The Avengers and Frankenweenie... and maybe Dark Shadows but I don't know, every time I see Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins, I chuckle... just seems so awkward to me. |

I've never really seen the upside to the "professional" framing outside of the archival reasons if you're never going to remove it, but we're not talking about classical works of art here in the poster thread. Don't get me wrong some professional frame jobs look great but I have never been able to justify the price when it's usually more than the poster is worth. |

I was just at Hobby Lobby this weekend. Takes me around 45 minutes to get there but worth the trip.
If you're framing any 24x36 and want to go the cheap route with no mats you can get a good deal. I grabbed this for my Thing poster as a temporary solution but may end up keeping it in something like it: 24x36 Standard poster frame off the shelf $49.99 take 50% off 24x36 Conservation UV glass around $45 take 40% off with coupon Acid Free backboard - around $8 The guy that did all the work threw in spacers for free. Stupid me got the more shallow frame by accident so they wouldn't fit but I know for next time. Out the door for $55. Not bad. I'm digging it in the plain frame and may just end up sticking with it. |

There is a hobby lobby about an hour away. I may check into this. Could the spacers mess the print up at all w/o a mat? Last edited by grooveska; 03-06-2012 at 07:41 PM. |

![]() You use spacers when you don't use a mat to keep the poster off the glass. There's a bunch of info on it over @ expressobeans. I've also read and I think Kinsella mentioned this that acrylic is better if you're having the print against the glass because it doesn't hold in moisture or something along those lines. Hollywood poster frames (reputable spot) uses a nice acrylic and says spacers are a waste since they only hold the print off at the edges. Lots of info out there and different routes to go. I'm lucky my room is insanely dry. My stuff is in the same spot I keep my 2 Uromastyx and Leopard Gecko. Ambient room temps are consistently 75% and 0% humidity. Lol |

Museum glass really is super nice and Hobby Lobby will cut it for you even if you don't get a frame job done there. I use them for almost everything and i had a few 8 x 10 pieces cut for $10 each and they always have weekly coupons which greatly reduces the cost just make sure to sign up for the newsletter to get them each week.
No i have spacers in my Ansin Mummy print and took it out after a few months to clean the inside of the glass and i didn't see any indication of marks from them on the print. Last edited by technique; 03-06-2012 at 08:15 PM. |
