There will NOT be a 4K format because there will NOT be a 4K broadcasts!

People will ONLY change their TV's for a new broadcast standard and NOTHING else!

The NEXT broadcast standard is SHV (8K) and it's supposed to start airing in Japan in 2025 which means 2040 in North America and a decade for decent adoption until a "new format" is released. See you in 2050.

If DVD came out in the 60's it would have lasted for 40+ years because the resolution of the broadcasts have NOT changed between 1960-1998.

HDTV will be the BEST broadcast available between 1998-204X.
