Of course, but playing the likes of James Loney, Adam Kennedy and Juan Uribe kinda sucks as well. Why oh why didn't Uribe re-sign with the Giants. Uh.

Thats what the Dodgers get for taking him away from us, I think we only offered him a 2 yr $15M contract... Then the Dodgers came out of no where and offered him 3 yr $21M, which he def was not worth

They also tried to get Huff, which drove up the price for us, paying him $22M for 2 years, which is also a terrible contract

Yeah I remember we tried to get Huff. Ned Colletti loves your Giants. Can you believe he admitted to tearing up because he was proud when the Giants won the Series? GTFO of our organization already.

With his 21st and 22nd home runs, Braun reclaimed the top spot on the NL leaderboard. He had been tied with the Cardinals' Carlos Beltran.

So much for Prince Fielder's departure leading to a dip in Braun's production. Through 72 games, he is batting .313 (versus .311 at the same point last year), with 22 home runs (15 last year), 55 RBIs (51) and a .611 slugging percentage (.562).

Just heard the NL starting roster for the All-Star game on ESPN, as I recall it went like this:

Melky in left
Kemp in center (injured, however)
Beltran in right
Sandoval at 3B (wtf, shoulda been Wright)
Uggla at 2B
Furcal at SS
Posey at C (John Kruk was arguing it shoulda been Carlos Ruis or maybe Yadier Molina)
Votto at 1B

Wow 3 Giants in the starting lineup .. I agree with Melky & Posey, but not with Sandoval at 3B

They had a HUGE all star voting campaign here in the Bay to vote Giants, even giving a lucky fan who votes a chance to win 4 tickets to a giants game and more...

I think people around the league are gonna react negatively toward SF for putting Sandoval into the starting lineup, but I'm sure Tony La Russa will find a way to make use of D.Wright in the game... Wright is having a potential-MVP kinda year (Melky too!).

Who might replace Kemp to start at CF for the NL? Michael Bourn from ATL is a great candidate (100 H, .307 BA, .355 OBP, 7 HR, 29 RBI, 22-for-29 SB). Are there any others more deserving? Dunno how Bourn was doing in the voting...

The fact that Michael Bourn and Martin Prado are not on the NL team is a complete travesty. The fact that Bourn won't win the "final vote" because Harper is going to is also terrible. The fact that Aaron Hill is included on the vote because he's had a great 3 weeks is the dumbest thing ever. And it's sad to know that Chipper won't be there one last time (though he is in the final vote, he shouldn't beat Bourn and he won't beat Harper).

Haha, Martin Prado is hitting .323/.387/.467 and he plays about every position except for Catcher!

I wish more managers did what Manuel did a few years ago and actually picked a utility player. Manuel took Omar Infante over a lot of other deserving players explicitly because he could play most of the positions on the field and was having a great year.

I think he's a complete douchebag, but I applaud Bryce Harper for this regarding the "Final Vote":
