Post If Paramount goes back to Blu-ray (and they probably will)...

I'd LOVE to see The Godfather movies on Blu-ray!

Enough said.

I haven't seen the Godfather movies in a long time and I pretty much forget what happens....

this means I get to re-live the moment in Blu

I just saw 2001 for the 1st time today and I was blown away by the sheer fact that I never even seen this movie before and how great it looked..

Why dosn't Michael Bay and Coppola team up and make a Transformers vs. The Godfather Trilogy?

Paramount will leave HD and start releasing LD and Beta. So it is written.

Its inevitable that Paramount and Universal will switch over probably wont be official(meaning we wont have Paramount Universal movies) until Q3 to get major sales for the Holidays, they would be stupid to do it any other time. But here is my list

1. Bourne Ultimatum
2. Transformers
3. Italian Job
4. Zodiac
5. Shrek 3
6. Inside Man
7. Bourne Identity
8. Shooter

Basically all the ones I bought on HD DVD

I'm worried about how the Godfather movies will look...

From what I've heard, Paramount was not kind to the Godfather film stock and judging by the DVDs, the current master is rather garbage. We'll be lucky if the BR releases are much above DVD levels, I'm afraid (hopefully I'm wrong though). This is a trilogy where I'd love a bunch of special features though, so added value can be found there for me, even if PQ/AQ aren't top notch.

I'd pick up the trilogy on BR if it's an upgrade at all though.

A while back, Coppola wanted to restore the film, but Paramount said no. Then Spielberg came in and smacked them around a bit and made Paramount give in.

Heres the link.

That's good news...

I hadn't heard that Robert Harris was actually involved with a restoration, only that the film elements were in terrible shape not long ago.

It's truly amazing that Paramount almost let the Godfather movies die like that -- I can't imagine how they care for their lesser titles if one of the greatest trilogies in movie history was left to rot. They actually resisted putting effort into keeping the movies in a healthy state!

Now I'm excited to see them again.

Face/Off is my main target when Paramount returns. Of course everybody wants Transformers, but Top Gun and Jack Ryan Collection are worthy films and the one I want the most....Old School.
