In other news, Martin Prado is amazing. He's played 1B, 2B, 3B, SS and LF this year, and after tonight will have started a game at all of them except second. He's the ultimate utility man because he can play anywhere, but he also has the numbers to justify being a starter.

I hope the rumors of Prado + prospects for Upton are not true.

After today, of the 37 ERs RA Dickey has allowed in 125 IP, the Braves have scored 15 of them in only 15.1 IP. His ERA against the Braves is 8.80; against all other teams, it's 1.81.

He's also pitched at least 6 innings in all but 2 games this year, both against the Braves.

Something I find interesting about the Angels.

From May 14th through June 24th, they only left the state of California twice. They only left the Pacific time zone once (3 games at Colorado).

Since then they've gone 8-7. Good record, but not the tear they were on.

I personally have no idea how to quantify the effects of travel/time zones on play, but that was a freaky sequence of games in which even their away games were close to home.

I was thinking the same thing. I still can't see where/when the ball gets out of the catcher's mitt. It's not until the catcher looks back that you realize he doesn't have the ball.

Nice comeback for Sheets. 6 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 K. Should get the W as well assuming the bullpen doesn't blow the 6 run lead.

I did not have the chance to watch either of the games Saturday/Sunday this weekend. How are they swinging the lineup now with the backup SS injured?

I put some thought into this on Friday night when Wilson went down, and the best I could come up with was to start Diaz in LF, put Prado at SS (because, like you said, the dude can play anywhere), and to leave everybody else where they normally play.

Wait, does Prado even have a "normal" position any more? I kinda forgot which position he originally played (2B? SS? lol) because he switches every other week to something new.

I will be LIVID if they trade him.

He is the best player on the team and has been since about 2010.

Besides, Prado is a natural fit to replace Chipper Jones at 3B next year, Justin Upton has battled injuries in every single season of his career, and the Braves already have a RF (Jason Heyward) so they don't goddamn need another one in Upton.

Off to the Bronx for the first time this year (who makes this sched?). Need 2 of 3 there and a sweep in Boston to get back in it. With our current rotation and bullpen, we may have to score 12 a night and HOPE it's enough.

Martin played SS on Saturday, but they traded with the Reds to get Janish. So Janish played SS today. With Santana in, they gave Uggla the day off, put Prado at 2B and Diaz in LF. So Prado started every game at a different spot.

That hurts but it is so true. We can't even get to Lincecum when he is having a terrible year. Early on our young players with so much more energy and at least they were interesting to watch. I think they are getting frustrated with the losses and not playing nearly as hard.

I love my Heyward jersey, though I feel weird wearing it anywhere other than to games, and since I have very little interest in the Royals, I've only worn it 6 or 7 times. Fortunately, once was to see the Braves play in St Louis, and then again last year for a game in Atlanta.
