I was saying that a BD will play on a SD TV.

It would just be in standard def.

EDIT: I re-read my post. I got his question wrong... Woops.

I must have confused some people there.

Oh well. Sorry! I though he asked "Can you play blu-rays on a SD TV. Not "Can you play blu-rays on a Standard DVD player." :/
Sorry.

Am i forgiven?

Sorry, that makes sense then. It is just the question said standard DVD, I did not want to further confuse the guy.

The entire discussions changed since the OP.

It's not a HD-DVD user but a DVD user that was confused.

Awesome. Looks like the OP isn't the only one confused now.

All I can think of while reading this is, is the OP a young kid that doesn't know much, or an old guy.

either way I feel bad for em, but also I can't understand how you mix up HD-DVD and DVD... also I find it odd that people ask if blu will work on a standard DVD player...

kinda like asking if a PS2 game will work with an xbox...

All this proves is that Toshiba was stupid for calling it HD DVD. Why? because it confuses some people. Case in point: this thread. But alas it does not matter anymore.

Well it's people who don't understand that the technology is not only within the new special disc. A lot of people think the disc is the update and not the player. It's not too outlandish to think a special disc alone could enhance the quality.

Even though I hear things like this twice a week they still surprise me too. You would think after a while we would understand that not everybody understands
