LPCM is not better or just as good as bitstream. If they can fix the DTS-HD MA issue through LPCM, then that would probably suffice the masses. Well, not really, there will always be a group that will complain about this issue. Unless you have a dedicated HT room, then I am not sure how many people will even notice lossy vs. lossless audio. To me DD still sounds pretty good.
