Default Problem

Is anyone still having the problem where their PS3 freezes during movie playback? If so, does anyone know if 1.6 update will fix it? Or does anyone know how to fix it?

Just go into the main PS3 menu and on the Internet Options select "disable" and the problem will go away. Whenever you need to go online for anything it's a simple matter to just go back and select "enable" while you need that capability.

Thanks, for the disabling tip, I am watching Casino Royale soon, so I will let you know if the update helps.

I posted this in another thread, but I watched House of Wax today after the firmware update, and had no freezes at all. I did not have to disable the network. So I am hopeful that 1.6 solved the problem.

did this movie freeze on you before the update? I have some movies that freeze and some that don't. I just did the 1.6 today and have not watch a BD yet to see if that fixed that problem.
Does the disable internet thing work 100% of the time? I just find it funky that it is not every movie, heck it has even done it on regular DVD's for me.

If you did the firmware update to the latest firmware and your still having problems you may want to use a CD or DVD cleaner disc in case the lens some how got a little dirt.
If after doing that there still is a problem make sure the discs your playing are clean without scratches.

** As a last resort your unit could be defective and you may need to exchange it for a new one if you purchased it within 30 days **
