In the meantime, give me: Willow & the Clone Wars cartoon on BD, and I'm one happy camper!
I don't know what that is, but it just needs 4-6 storm troopers, darth vader, and boba fett and I'm happy

Vadar has been revived by a sith named bobo jin, boba fett fell through a trap door in that creature and it burped because it ate his jet pack

Disney making more Star Wars movies would ruin what I have taken away from the originals. Say it ain't so George
You do know that Lucas had originally planned the story to be nine movies, right? At one point he had announced (after the original trilogy was completed) that he was going to produce them in this order: 1, 7, 2, 8, 3, 9.

While I do think they have to be careful about rehashing yet another battle simply with different characters, I think there are always more stories that can be told. This is, after all, a story about a galaxy. None will be as surprising as the first Star Wars and they can never feel as original. But it doesn't mean that a worthy writer and director couldn't make another series of great movies. The sequels would have more freedom to be creative as they wouldn't be limited by trying to tell an origin story.

There are all kinds of directions the sequels could go. None of them will be these, but here's some options that I'd like to see (some of these I've posted already in more detail):
- If Luke is in the movie, he realizes that the Jedi, however well intentioned, were wrong about everything and actually incredible failures. There's a new threat (doesn't really matter what) and he doesn't use the Jedi way to resolve it (until he has to).
or
- Luke thinks he's the last Jedi, but he's not.
or
- Luke gets tried for treason/terrorism when it's learned that Vader was his father.
or
- Because of some or all of the above, Luke lives alone on a dusty planet the same way that Obi-wan did. There's a new threat and Luke trains a new Jedi.
or
- One or more of the offspring of either Solos or Skywalkers turn to the dark side (I haven't read the books, but I think there's a book plot about this).
or
- It's somehow discovered that Vader wasn't Luke's father after all. Either Padme had an affair with another Jedi when she was so upset about Anakin's actions -or- through some miracle, she became pregnant not by Anakin.

or (my personal favorite):
- The galaxy gets a new threat in the form of face-hugging lifeforms that impregnate humans with creatures that burst out of chests, etc. (only kidding).

Or...Luke teams up with Virginia, aka John Carter!
And we release this galaxy was not that far away after all. This will also set the wheels turning on JC2!

Johnston might be good choice. He actually wrote a treatment for a stand-alone Boba Fett movie that he wanted to direct.

I would totally trust him, even though his endings are sometimes on the sappy side.
John Williams did score Tintin . Hell, I'll never forget those many nights at the movie theatre listening to that ending score over and over ...

Explosions! Giant f'ing explosions! He knows Spielberg, who knows Lucas.

Steven Spielberg: Hey, Michael, would you like to direct the next Star Wars trilogy? Seeing how lovely a job you did with the Transformers series I gave you.
Michael Bay: Why that would be lovely Steven, thank you. I'll make you proud of doing the same things

I love Bay but shudder to think of what kind of Star Wars movie he would make. It probably wouldn't be enjoyable...much less Star Wars.

I would really like a Star Wars directed from Mel Gibson, but around the timeline of Knights of the Old Republic. As for these new "trilogy "....... I don't care. Empire Strikes back had the best director.

Luke actually trains Leia and he converts to the dark side. Leia actually has to bring him back in one of the Jedi temple books.

Just imagine the space chases, they be glorious! Throw in some racist Aliens or Ewoks and you got yourself a grantee hit.

"Dark Empire" ... but I believe he is referring to Jancen Solo turning to the dark side and his sister killing him

As much as I do like the novels, as as good as the Thrawn Trilogy are, I do NOT want them to use that as the basis for this at all. I already read those, I have no need to see them adapted to film. If you need a visual representation I am sure there is a comic book or graphic novel out there for you. They could use the character as the main villain but I wouldn't want a total adaptation or retelling of that trilogy.

A director that doesn't rely on CGI characters and everything green screen. Use real sets, real costumes, puppets, etc. and I'll be happy.
