Default Just finished last night

Wow, good timing on this thread, just finished the series last night.

I liked the "extra" chapter that Stephen gives us at the end. I thought it ironic he
(good naturedly) chastises us for reading on, arguing it is the journey not the destination. I read it because it makes the journey a little longer, not because I wanted a new destination.

I wonder how many people actually took his advice and didn't read the Coda.

Voted for Misery, but almost selected other. How can you not include "Stand by me" in the choices. .

Based on the length of the series I would prefer 1-2 season tv series.

I would have to say book 4 'Wizard and Glass' was my favourite, with book 3 coming in a close second. Loved the backstory Of Roland and his old friends when they were young, would love to read more of that storyline.

I think there was a series of comic books that were made about that backstory. Not a big reader of comic books but I think I might try to find it once I have finished the last book.

I would agree with the best of the Dark Tower stories is "Wizard and Glass". But my next favorite Dark Tower novel would be book 5, Wolves of the Calla. This story featured elements from The Magnicifent Seven, Harry Potter, and Doctor Doom!

You are so right, it is one of my favorites as well. Bad oversight on my part. In fact get the 2-Disc DVD version of Stand By Me. Interesting that Steve wrote himself as Gordy and had Chris Chambers fire the gun in the book. In the movie however; Gordy fires the gun. Very interesting what Reiner saw about the character that King didn't. Watch the movie I dont want to spoil it for you.
