If you are not playing games. Get a Panasonic dmp-bd30 or wait for the bd50. Don't listen to the one guy telling to buy a samsung they have been nothing but trouble with all models. Also don't buy the the sony because you won't have dts-hd sound.

Hello Everyone,
Just a quick question regarding the Panasonic BD50. I already have one of Pansonic's home cinema systems the SA PT850 with Tallboy speakers. My Question is will I be able to use the speakers from my home cinema system with the BD50? I think there may be a problem in that the wires for the speakers are very thin. If you have any info that would be great. |

PS3 best bang for the buck, or if you want a standalone, a Panasonic BD30

GET THE PLAYSTATION 3.
FUTURE PROOF PLAYER. VIDEOGAME SYSTEM. HOME MEDIA STREAMING CAPABILITIES. BEST VALUE FOR YOUR BUCK, WITHOUT A DOUBT. It also helps that the system looks sleek and is completely silent. There's no reason to buy a player now, tbh. |

Aside from some parameters that only concern hi-end players, the limit is the legacy spec for CD. You can have (expensive) players that extract the data marginally better, but they cannot invent info that isn't in the original disc. MP3 and AAC - even at high bitrates - are lossy codecs. Whether you perceive the difference or not greatly depends from your audio gear. But generally speaking, you should -- MP3 sound is less detailed and less "rich". On the other hand, you will definitely hear the difference with better speakers. It can be night and day. The purists will tell you that 50% of the money you plan to spend on a home theater should be used on the speakers alone. It you have a reasonably good equipment (it doesn't have to be hi end, just well balanced), SACD and DVD Audio will bring you a sound fidelity that CDs can't match. |

The Blu Ray player that I bought is just a stand in. It is a Samsung and I don't like it, but I would replace whatever I had bought.
The reason is that I can't stand single disc players. I don't understand why they even make them. I want a 5 disc changer and it is irritating to me that there are no blu ray changers out there. As soon as one is released, my samsung goes in the trash and I am getting the changer. |

That's interesting because I HATE changers (unless it's my 400 disc SACD, but for movies, I never understood why you'd want them in the changer..... I have to put my children back in their cases, and back on the shelves IMMEDIATELY after watching them) |

Panasonic DMP-BD30- Most complete so far. Pioneer Elite BDP-95FD- Best Picture From Ultimate AV Magazine on the Pio BDP-94HD: "The biggest plus here is perhaps the most important- this player offers the sharpest, crispest and most detailed image I've yet seen from Blu-ray. On my projection screen this player's picture was always a subtle but noticeable hair sharper than that from the Sony PlayStation3. Slight bits of film grain and other very low-level details were always just that extra bit more apparent and the image was always just a bit more three-dimensional. Looking at the PS3 by itself doesn't leave anything to be desired, but in comparison the difference was surprisingly apparent." Last edited by werewuf; 03-05-2008 at 06:59 PM. |
