and to think I was Monster Certified, hahahaha
go to any retailer and they will deny that site and still claim that you HAVE to have Monster to get your full money's worth out of your entertainment center. I wish I had known this before I got my Monster 1000 Component, 1000 Fiber Optic, 1000 Speaker Wire, 600 Sub Wire, Monster S-Video. O well, live and learn. Of course that was several years ago and my friend got BB discount bringing the total down to like only 30% of the retail cost, boo ya! I just returned my Monster 1000 HDMI cable and ordered myself a $12 HDMI cat. 2 cable from monoprice, ah the joys of saving money and getting the same quality if not much much better

Man, I agree. I had our old service department actually test Monster cables against 3 dollar Radio Shack cables and they came out equal. Monster is actually single-handedly responsible for the entire wire industy's evolution though. I will say this... the more silver content in a wire, the faster and clearer. Nordost wire is wacky.

sell it on ebay, you will get some of your money back and still have enough left over to get a few cables from monoprice

I like the picture of the Monster test unit that says, "See and Hear", etc. Synthesizer pioneer Wendy Carlos, who's opinion about sound is probably as good as you're going to get, says to never use your eyes when it comes to sound -- trust your ears.

In other words, Monster Cable can eat it.

sounds like someone got conned into "quality" at the price monster is sold for it better be quality, but not worth price. if a 1.99 hdmi cable goes bad, buy another one for 1.99 and you will save 150 bucks

Monster is SO OVERPRICED and their products are no better then the ones that cost 1/3 of the price...I hate when people say Monster is the best...but I guess Monster Cables marketing team really knows how to sell overpriced cables...

My sister's fiancee works at FutureShop and he told me that the reseller cost for a 25' Monster HDMI cable is less than $10. So, seeing as how that cable sells for approximately $100 (depending on where you shop), I'd say that it is a RIP-OFF brand name.
