And why do they keep putting them up, just to take them down a few hours later?
Yeah, Amazon keeps putting it up and then taking it down. I think that they took it down this last time because the release date was moved out from 3/19 to 4/8/13?

Ahh yes! I felt like some additions had been left out of that list. I also always wondered whatever happened to the Orcs before the extended edition (I previously owned a theatrical DVD). After watching the extended edition, it felt a lot more "clean" and wrapped up. Justice for the Orcs, and vengeance for the trees.

Also, I'm not sure if it's only in the extended edition or not, but the part with the salt and "Roast chicken?!" is a favorite of mine, as I love to cook. The fact that Sam would bring along some of the Shire's best salt is...well, it's almost like something I would do were I trekking to my doom.

Those who want the hobbit of The Hobbit on their 3D cover art might consider importing the UK version -

They changed the date? I didn't know that. Is that in the U.S?

I am really confused by this. Everything I see online still says 3/19.

It must have been 4/8 in the UK that I read. Didn't mean to get everyone so excited...

Amazon seems to be taking longer these days to get the pre-orders up on their site than they used to?

They do, however I'm still waiting on shipment that was supposed to be here Tuesday, so just be aware that it might not be a perfect experience.

Personally I'm waiting on the extended edition, though that is a really sweet cover art.

I have a feeling this will get some sort of exclusive here in the U.S.

Best Buy has the LOTR SteelBooks, so I don't see why they wouldn't release this one.
