Agree on all of those. My Heaven and Hell is DVD and even it sounds great. I'll upgrade it to Blu ray some day. Concerts to me have much better replay value than movies. I got into home theater 25 years ago with a Beta Hi-Fi machine and at that time bought concerts (and a few conceptual music videos) exclusively. I never really bought any movies until DVD became main stream and dropped way down in price. The hobby has come a long way in the last twenty years.

A lot of talent on that one. Some of the best stand up bass I've seen. Jordan playing the guitar and piano at the same time is something I've never seen before. Glad you liked it.

Both of Jeff Beck's discs still reign supreme ... Live at Ronnie Scott's, and Rock & Roll Party
R&R Party also features Imelda May, probably the best female talent in the past 30 years or so. She makes Adele look like a joke. |

I wouldn't quite go so far as to suggest that. They are very different and each brings a lot to the table.

Based on the HD-DVD, The Eagles Farewell Tour BD will be reference for PQ and AQ, I have that on preorder too. John Mayer: Where the Light Is Police: Certifiable, Various: Concert For George (Harrison) are my current demo discs. I usually try to sneak in a Porcupine Tree Anesthetize track or two but not too many of my friends know this music. AQ is excellent. Music tracks on a Media Streamer works great for juke box demo. Very easy to play a great sample of concerts without having to constantly change discs with slow startup, slow menus etc. Anyone else doing this? Last edited by HomerJay; 02-16-2013 at 10:38 PM. |

Here's another wicked concert blu-ray:
http://www.amazon.ca/Road-Rocks-Blu-.../dp/B009VKL8JW It's short and punctuated, but when you see and hear the concert footage you'll forget these drawbacks. Any live Mumford & Sons show is a treat, and this filmed outdoor performance has a wispy and dramatic look. |
