Report: Steven Jackson, Green Bay Packers talking deal

Quote:
Rashard Mendenhall and Reggie Bush found homes in free agency on Tuesday. Steven Jackson doesn't want to get left out in the cold when the game of musical chairs at running back stops spinning.

Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that the Packers and running back Steven Jackson have been talking about a three-year deal. Demovsky cautions that doesn't mean a deal is done or a deal will get done, but clearly there is strong mutual interest.

Jackson makes a lot of sense for the Packers because he would bring professionalism and durability to a shaky position for the Packers. He can play all three downs and take advantage of the beneficial looks that an Aaron Rodgers-led offense gives a running back. I don't think he will have to carry the ball 250 times on the Packers anyhow.

DuJuan Harris looked great last year, and the Packers like to spread the ball around.
The Atlanta Falcons were tied to Jackson in speculation last month, but they have been focused on re-signing their own players. Green Bay looks like Jackson's best option, even if he's taking a big pay cut from last season.

Patriots better hope they can land Amendola, it was pretty clear last season that Edelman can't come close to Welker's production. Denver's offense is going to be scary next season.

How so its not like Edelman was getting a ton of balls and just botching it. He also had a better rookie year than Welker

^^

My coworker is in love with Welker and we just had a recent discussion about him re-signing with New England. She's been off the entire week and she supposed to come in tomorrow. Can't wait to see her reaction tomorrow.

So Mike Wallace gets $12 mill a year for being a little above average and Welker reeived a $5 mill offer?

my buddy just emailed me this but didn't give me the link.

Quote:
Reporters were scrambling to confirm ESPN.com Adam Schefter's tweet that Rams free agent RB Steven Jackson had agreed to a three-year deal with the Packers.

But then Schefter pulled the tweet, so it's unclear if he just jumped the gun or if there are flaws with the report.

Stay tuned.

Report: Tom Brady “enraged” Patriots let Wes Welker go

Quote:
Tom E. Curran of CSNNE.com spoke to a source close to Brady who described Brady as “enraged.” The words “disgrace” and “disservice” were also used to describe the way Brady (who apparently was under the impression that he had helped the Patriots save enough cap space to keep Welker) felt about learning that the Patriots wouldn’t even offer Welker enough money to keep him from signing a two-year, $12 million contract with the Broncos.

Economies tight bro what can they say. There is only enough money for the truly elite NFL players like Joe Flacco and Mike Wallace.

If they can continue to shore up that defense get Stafford to drop his cap hit by resigning him, same with Suh I think they can fix this team if they do it right. Apparently Glover Quin is also in town and is expected to sign today. Detroit's Defense might look a lot better after today.

I'm not a huge Reggie Bush fan, but as a lifelong Lions fan, I like what they've done so far with Bush Glover, and Houston. He could be a very nice compliment to Leshoure next year.
