If Mondo has reported it though, then I would tend to believe it, but I don't know if they have. I would think they would hold back some prints for online sales knowing not everyone can hop down to Austin Texas.

I did see that they sold the vinyl LP at the event, curious if anyone got one of the hot pink vinyl records that were randomly inserted, or if the Record Store Day 2013 rumors are false. Saw someone already has sold a metal Drive print on eBay for $900.
There is one on eBay (Watchman IMAX) going for $50
though in good condition with a little wear. I need to sit down
and just post pictures of my poster vault and see what's rare and what's not.

Also I was getting my source from other forms from people who went to the Stout/Taylor show saying that Watchmen and others were sold out. EBay caught on much later.

If you go for that Watchmen poster on eBay, make sure you contact the seller for photos of the actual poster in case they have a stock image. When someone lists something as "good" condition you want to check out the reason why before bidding. Pretty incredible that the Watchmen prints sold out, seeing that it had a very high production run. There is always a chance Mondo had x amount for sale at the event and x amount dedicated for online sales later. Just seems hard to believe that both the standard/variants would have sold out since more than likely they limited them to one per person. You never know, they could still put some up for online purchases.....

There's been no official confirmation. Mainly the people who went to the event who are talking of a sell out. Also there are a quite a few reputable people seemingly backing this claim up. But as you say there is always to possibility of people BSing.

However one thing that's certain is that Stout does keep a chunk of his posters for himself. So there will definitely be a lotto' so I wouldn't dish out big sums to get the Drive poster/s you wantright now.

I still think the one you have is the best. I like stouts new one better than his last, but would still take the Taylor over it, only my opinion of course.

Im still leaning towards the Ken Taylor one, but i do love Stout's new one, especially the GID Variant.

But the KT one is defiantly the one that will look best framed.

All of the artists who do Mondo prints get a portion of the prints, some sell them for between original price and eBay prices, and some sell at original prices or slightly more. More than likely IF Mondo doesn't offer any Ken Taylor prints online (and I still would be shocked if they didn't), chances are PostersandToys will offer Taylor's allotment, or at least some of them, via their site. Stout will do his lottery but those who think artists get hundreds of copies are wrong, I think its only a small percentage of the print run that they get.

I'm guessing that Stout will have a fairly large run for his AP drop, will be interesting to see what the format will be (drop all at once, or multiple lotteries).

I think I read over at EB that posterandtoys won't have any Taylor pieces to drop.

Picked up a Watchmen Reg- it was more reasonable.
That VAR is almost going for $200. Either that price will go higher or it will drop.
Not sure which way the wind is blowing.

I have Game of Thrones to work on so I need to keep some cash.

I also noticed that it said double sided at Movieposters site. What would that mean? that it has both sides the same. I hate that poster I want a large Cate Blanchett looking sexy as Elizabeth I so I might have to randomly try movie goods. So is moviegoods reputable?

Double sided posters have the same image you're looking at on the back. The image on the back should be a touch lighter than the front. The double sided posters are good to display in a light-box for backlighting but are also perfectly fine to frame in an ordinary poster frame. Be careful though as even double sided posters can be faked.

How'd I do K5?

I hadn't seen the Stouts. Just took a look at them. I particularly like the one with the horizon lines.

That said, I have the Signalnoise James White and that one is still probably my favorite.

You did fine. One thing, regarding the image on the back being slightly lighter/faded, that wasn't something that happened all one at time, studios adopted it all at a different time. I want to say Paramount was one of the first to start doing it, but it was all done at random. And yes, as Underworld said, double-sided posters can be faked, but nowadays with 99.9% of the double-sided authentic studio-issued posters having that faded back side to them, it is getting easier to spot the fakes out there. One exception though is the Dark Knight Rises IMAX exclusive style, the originals did NOT have the faded backside to them, as the studio didn't handle the printing, the IMAX Corporation did so they didn't worry about going the extra mile to make the backside lighter. That style is extremely rare and can be expensive (I just parted with the only one I ever had gotten recently) and will get increasingly more difficult to find over the years.

In MY opinion, and only MY opinion, my answer is no. There are a lot of words that can describe them, but "reputable" isn't one of them. But to each their own, there are a lots of people who probably would say something glowing about them, and those are probably people who don't know anything about the poster industry. It very well could be an original and if you want to order it, you could luck out and find you are happy with it.

The link doesn't take a person to the print in question. Do you mean the Dark Knight Rises Mondo print by Olly Moss? $40 was cost, it doesn't surprise me if that is the case as that print had several thousand made because it was a timed release, limited, but people had a 24-hour window to order it. VG is the standard term used on there, you may want to check to see when the person posted it for sale, I have found that very few people actually remove their prints from the site after they have sold. Hopefully they come through with images of it too.

Or you can go the eBay route (do a search for item #171001727503) as that seller has one for $55 shipped. There are about 20+ auctions for that print currently on eBay too.

Yeah that print really dropped in price once all 9000 and something were in peoples hands

Also be careful which one you buy as some were double inked and came out very dark. Mine was one of them. Mondo ended up doing a replacement program for those who messaged them. I was able to get mine replaced with a proper copy.

Don't think I'd be able to do $40 shipped on mine though. Cheapest I could do would be $55 shipped to the States.
