Weta Workshop is going to be at the Calgary Comic Expo! They tweeted me telling me to bring my Orc statue in, but it's too massive to lug around. Definitely excited they are going to be there, but my wallet on the other hand...

Does that mean they are there to sign items? If so, you should bring your Orc statue in, you can always leave it at my booth as I can make room for it behind the tables and then you can take it home with you when you leave, so you don't need to lug it around with you. If they have people there who worked on it, you should take advantage of having them signing it. Will they have items for sale?

I may bring it then. I had to buy it off eBay as this particular piece wasn't available to the public, and as far as I know finding a replacement the price I paid is going to be impossible. If something were to happen to my precious

They should have stuff for sale as well from what I've heard. I'm more into sideshow but weta makes some damn good pieces as well.

I see this one on eBay for 14.95

Looks like it's from 1995 not 1996. Not as nice of artwork as the one you're looking for, but still a decent piece IMO

Since I have a good amount of room, I can always put it under one of my tables behind the main tables at my booth, it should be fine there and then after you get it signed you can take it home with you. I saw they are having at least three of the WETA guys there, but they mentioned other "heavyweights" will be there too. Curious if they offer a Calgary Expo exclusive piece for sale.

It sounds like the preview event online will be at 5pm pacific time when they go on sale, more than likely they will only have a certain allotment and not all of the prints as they dont want to sell all online before the event starts so my guess if there is 100 prints, they may put up 40 or so for sale online during the preview. The rest they said will go on sale Saturday.

I'm not looking for anything I bought it and was wondering if anybody has the home video release posters besides the movie release posters. I have more but there Evangelion related and revolutionary girl utena and appleseed posters.

My dad has one hanging in his theatre for an old John Wayne movie, The Searchers. The original movie poster from 1956 cost a fortune, the reprint of the re-release of the movie on DVD didn't look great so he bought an original of the DVD release and then plaqued it!

Anyone get any of the WonderCon prints from Mondo today? The regular Scarface and both Shelob's Lair prints are still available. Got me a blue Shelob & a Scarface.

Damn I missed out. Hopefully I'll score one of Englert's "Battle at Blackwater" AP's when he puts them up on his site but I heard he only has 50 so I'm not overly optimistic.
