I really liek your setup C_Doc. It's very inviting. I can't believe the overwhelming amount of media you have. WOW!

My humble set-up...

I'm buying a new TV next week. It's going to be MUCH bigger. I'm looking at a Sony KDS-55A3000. I'm going to clear off the top of the entertainment center and put it there. In place of the tiny samsung I'm going to put an A/V rack.

I'd never really thought about it. Although, after building all the rest of the furniture, I bet I could make a stand too, and save myself the $30

Honestly, the cabinet in the very back is all books, and about 2/3 of the one on the side is, but still... I think I may have more titles than the local video store

Its an Atlantic Case from Best Buy. Just saw it while i was there yesterday so they still sell it. Ias you can probably see its time for me to upgrade from it so one of these days i need to go off to Ikea and pick up a much bigger wall unit.

Nice setup.
Yeah there is plenty of room the pics are deceiving since the stand is all black with shadows. I need to send it in to have the fix the Sparklies though . It was nice of them to finally release a new firmware to fix the bass boost issue in LPCM though, so i at least have that much going for me, which is why im procrastinanting sending it back.

I'd go that route then..... my center-speaker stand cost about $500 and my entire setup probably costs less than your seating (which is very nice by the way)

I agree though.... gotta get that baby off the floor.

Just WOW! Awesome job there, Congrats!

Very nice C-Doc. Very nice wood work as well. Build some wood (oak?) shelves to replace the white ones and build yourself a nice little center channel stand too. Is that your basement?

What C_Doc failed to mention is he didn't have enough money for a bed, refridgerator, microwave or toilet paper

Very nice set up in-deed!

Here's our comfy little set up:

Sony KDL-52W3000, Polk Audio RTi A3's and a Polk Audio CSi A4 center channel. And, yes I love the Yankees!

Onkyo TS-XR705, Sony BDP-S300 Blu-Ray, Sony CD Player and Explorer HD Box. I love this piece of furniture, we have the taller matching cabinet with 2 roll out shelves on the one side packed with cd's across the room.

Polk Audio FXi A4 surrounds. These speakers are awesome even though they need to be remounted a little higher.

Here's an idea for those of you looking for an alternate way of mounting your center channel. Get 2 brackets from home depot, no shelf and just mount the rubber speaker feet directly to the brackets and set your center right on top.

Can someone give me the instructions for posting a pic. It's been awhile since I did it and I can't remember the HTML<img src, something.
Thanks.

Tracy your setup is very nice. looks like a very comfortable spot to watch a flick! I assume you put the covers on the speakers when in use though. looks a little tacky with them off.

I figure I can always use some of the books for toiletpaper. That'll make room for more DVDs/Blu-Ray! The seating fully reclines, so I can sleep in them. I'm from Canada, sooo no need for a fridge (we're always frozen) and I can heat up my food on top of the warm amp. I got it all figured out!

Yes its the basement. Absolutely pitch black with the lights off. Literally can't see a foot in front of you. I'll get crackin' on a speaker stand for the center channel. Probably your basic black to match the speakers instead of stained like the woodwork. I guess I should make it angled slightly upward too, aiming for the "sweet spot" in the middle seat.

If anyone wants to see a series of WIP images from the cabinetry build, they can be found here. More storage units are in the works, but not right away (No time!)

Thanks for the nice comments

Thank you! Yes, the grills are usually on the speakers. Sometimes I just like the way the cherry cabinets look without the covers.

Keep the grills off for the sound to be more transparent.
