If you're using your PS3 for movie watching, don't forget the PS3 is internally decoding and sending out as PCM. The receiver will only be able to decode and apply DSP to the lossy formats, but you need to switch it over from Linear PCM to bitstream. You can do this by hitting triangle during playback and clicking on AV settings.

You are correct. I actually did make this change the day I set up the receiver. It is just that when watching a movie with different audio options, switching from, for instance, PCM to Dolby TrueHD on the movie menu would be reflected on the receiver display automatically and a noticeable change in the audio sound. After the auto setup, PCM is only displayed when switching audio options in the movie. Thanks again for your help!
