please see the apprprppriate kuro owners forum at AVS- there you'll read how running a film like The Incredibles (no black bars) can sometimes "unstick" your red sub-pixel.

if i cant see a stuck sub pixel from my normal viewing distance, i wouldnt worry about

thats true

sometimes it pays to purchase from a dealer with a good return policy {even if it costs more than the box movers]

i have a 1080p kuro - up close its very hard for me to make out the actual R, G,B sub-pixels - wonderful fill factor

if one was stuck I honestly dont know how its possible to see it from a normal viewing distance-unless u want to be watching stagnant test patterns

the fact that we lurk on this forum probably suggests we're obsessed fanatics though

I ended up exchanging the set for a new one and now this one has a stuck green pixel. I was not looking for it, but I happened to be close to the screen when it was mostly white and there it was. I unplugged the set for the night and when I turned it on this morning, it was gone. Does anyone know why this is or if it will just come back?

If its gone that's a good thing .
Make sure you break-in screen and it shouldn't be a problem in the future.

The same pixel is back . Apparently, it was only gone temporarily when I unplugged the TV. I am going to exchange it. I'm not sure, but I think it appeared after I ran the break-in disk overnight. It definately was not there initially, so it either came from regular TV watching or the break-in disc. I am now officially done with the break-in disc. I love my Elite Kuro too much to put her through that again .

Get yourself a Sony Bravia and be done with it.

Dead pixels would drive me nuts.

Don't worry, I'm not laughing at you but with you.

Something similar happen to me with my LCD computer monitor. I bought it brand new and out of the box I had one stuck pixel. Tried to do a return, but got some bullshit reason about if it wasn't 3 or more than a return isn't acceptable. So what i did was tried this Jscreen tool first.

http://www.jscreenfix.com/

That really didn't work. So next I did the "massage pixel" technique. Now that worked perfect. 4 months went by, so I decided to clean my LCD screen. Guess what? The damn thing came back stuck afterwards. Haven't tried to massage it again. It wouldn't bother me soo much except its a "BLUE DOT" right in the MIDDLE of the screen.

If you can connect your PC thru your HDTV, you can run the Jscreen fix tool to see if it gets unstuck.
