Talking Wii Sales Dropping

It seems Nintendo's Wii *coughs, seems to have dropped in sales by 23% in march. Seems little Timmy doesn't have mates coming over to his house to play on his Wii ( ) as much as he did when they first got it.

Little Timmy's friend count for playing on the Wii ()

Week 1: All of his friends

Week 2: 3/4 of Little Timmy's friends

Week 3: 1/2 of Little Timmy's friends

Week 4: 1/4 of Little Timmy's his friends

Week 5: Every friend of Little Timmy's is suspiciously ILL and can't come over to his house to play *cough, Parents got em *cough some Wii's ( )

It remains to be seen if the Wii falls into the same trap the GameCube did: Needlessly tepid software support.

The hype and momentum is finally starting to come down to Earth for them.

It WILL get support initially, now that its moving consoles, but once people figure out that there is NO CHANCE of 1:1 mapping on screen and all you're doing is gestures instead of button pressing, they get freakin tired of it. I am so thankful i sold mine when i did before the crash of the market. The system is ABSOLUTELY AWEFUL.

If they'd simply allow people to play EVERY game any way they prefer it would go worlds better for them in the long run.

Let people either play a game "normally" or with the funky controls as they see fit.

as much as i want to celebrate i would like two see this to become a trend the wii is oka to play with for younger people and people that don`t play much . kinda funny once you think about if the wiis main user base is children and some adults that play once in a while but not the serious gammer whos going to buy the games is that not were the company is suppose to make the most money ? whens the last time u saw a child buy more then 2 games a month or a busey mom or dad or single person that likes to party?

Hey Wii sales dropped 23%, yet they are still twice as much as PS3 - and only one of these two systems is sold out (hint: it's not our beloved PS3).

I think you guys should take a closer look before you proclaim the Wii dying.

lupin23rd

i see your point and it is valid but look at this it has been abserved that 60% of ps2 owners will adopt the ps3 that around 65 million poeple. also a console is supose to be desinged for a life span of about 6 years while the ps3 span is supose to be closer to 10. and yes but if we see the wii sales having this drop for 3 months in a row then its clear . but also 23%!!!!!!!! thats alot say the wii sold 100 000 units a month(i know its more but lets say) that mean that this month the wii did not sell 23 000 units thats one fith of your sales!!! and march is supose to be an oka month were january and febuary and supose to be the bad months!!!

I'm going to have to agree with lupin23rd.

I went to my local bestbuy and saw. 3 Wiis and 27 PS3, I would like to also add this is my first time I saw the Wii in a store, that I could buy. (I didn't though) Two days later, They were sold out of Wiis and guess how many PS3s were still there, all 27 of them.

If Nintendo shipped less Wii in march, then of course Wii sales will be down compare to the months before.

I agree with what people are saying, Wii is fun to play but I haven't seen a lot of games I want to play for it. I might buy the Wii after the price drops and pick up Zelda.

Don't know that's why I said if Nintendo shipped less Wii in march, then of course Wii sales will be down compare to the months before.

"PS3 rapid decline in sales in the the US has stabilized."

Wii sold 259,000 units Down 23%
Xbox 360 sold 199,000 units Down 13%
PS3 Sold 130,000 units Up 2%

http://www.betanews.com/article/PS3_...rch/1177095811

I'm also believe the Wii sells are down because the Wii hype is dieing down

Where are they 'easily had now', I have been using wiihunt and every time I go shopping to find one for my parents ( my 59 year old mother tried it at my house and loved it) and I am coming up with nothing except what the sales clerk always says "we get them in and they never last over 30 min. till they are gone" statement, they (Nintendo) have sold more then 6 million units since November, that is f'ing amazing.

So what? The Wii is catering to a completly different market, good on Nintendo and I hope they keep there good sales results. I don't own a Wii, I have a PS3 because thats my choice. I would think that if you want to make a comparison in sales then you should whatch the 360 vs PS3.

I would like to know how many friends come over and play on your PS3 today?

I know I haven't had any for a while because I have no games to play. Resistance was fun for about 2 weeks.
