I see these fantastic HDTV sets and yet your speakers are subpar.

Of course, by no means do I have top of the line speakers. But these Ascend Acoustics are great for the price.

...Says the guy with Best Buy brand surround speakers that aren't voice matched to the fronts.

My setup fills a room just fine... Although, I am upgrading to larger speakers when I get my projector and make the basement into a theater. I personally like good bookshelf speaker for placement options.

I'm aware of the crappy speakers - summer work is paying for a wonderful Onkyo and some decent Klipsch. Now make like a tree...and...(wishes he could quote the Boondock Saints line).

And I agree with Turbo. 37" Westy?

Hey man, I wasn't criticizing their HDTV was I? Yes, I have a crappy HDTV but that's all I can afford for now. I got a good deal on the Ascends so my sound system is great compared to my TV setup.

As far as the Insignia speakers not matching the fronts...not a big deal.
Surround speakers are secondary. I have found that timbre matching the surrounds with the fronts are not as essential as matching all the fronts and center. Of course, some people would passionately disagree. But these Insignia speakers do their job just fine for surrounds--especially when the cost $20 each--yea you heard me, $20 each back in the day.

I think he's just saying that people typically prioritize their Television higher than their Audio Equipment, and it makes you scratch your head..... and I agree with him.

My T.V. = Junk

My Audio Equipment = decent stuff.

While I completely agree that AQ is more important, he shouldnt be surprised that people are calling him out after he did the same thing.

I'm not really familiar with his speakers, so I can't say if they're along the same quality as his television, but his receiver certainly costs a lot more than his t.v. but that doesn't lead me to believe it's high quality (at least I wouldn't buy one, but many others have I know)

I need a new receiver or separates, but I also need to pay bills, so such is life!
