Now that James Wan has officially started production on Fast & Furious 7, new set images have appeared along with information on potential cast members and future installments in the franchise. Perhaps the most interesting item is a tweet concerning the casting of one Kurt Russell, or make that the missed casting opportunity of Russell. While the veteran action star’s status is neither confirmed nor denied, his role in the picture has been revealed. Additionally, fans of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift might find a Lucas Black-centric tweet of interest. Hit the jump for more.

Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson, Fast & Furious 7 opens July 11, 2014.

Why would Jesse's father want revenge on Torretto? Torretto Had nothing to do with Jesse's death and he himself got revenge on the guy that did...makes no sense.

That twitter account is a fan account, so I'm going to take all their info with a grain of salt for now. If they wanted Denzel for the role originally, I really don't see how the character could have been Jesse's father. Not to mention, as Seth mentioned, Dom didn't do anything, so revenge against him makes no sense...

Djimon Hounsou Joins James Wan’s FAST & FURIOUS 7

Djimon Hounsou (Never Back Down) is the latest addition to director James Wan’s Fast & Furious 7. Plot details are still few and far between, but it’s known that the seventh installment will film at least partially in Los Angeles. New cast members include Ronda Rousey, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham and Tony Jaa. Expect most of the franchise cast to return, with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker as headliners. Fast & Furious 7 opens July 11, 2014.

Hounsou has a busy schedule lined up, with Baggage Claim, Seventh Son and The Vatican Tapes coming soon. He’ll also voice a role in How to Train Your Dragon 2 and is currently filming Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Disagree. I think Jesse said his dad was in prison, so Kurt could have had Vin make a promise to keep his boy safe...no matter what. It didn't happen.
