Two things though:

- Isn't the drumset causing noise when watching movies? When I play my digital piano through the speakers I always have the snare carpet or some cymbals chiming in. Very annoying.

- Have you considered sitting a little closer? 1x to 1.5x times picture width will give you full HD detail Just a thought.

Enjoy your BDs
The drumkit is handcrafted from Jarra ply and serves me on weekends when i teach, so having this room kills the 2 birds with the one stone. The kit makes no noise whatsoever when playing movies and concerts. The best possible spot for seating is not far from my mid speakers. The only mistake i made when i was on this project was that i never put the mid surrounds low enough. The specification for them speakers is around 80-100 mm above seating height. All the sound is very controlled and nothing escapes apart from a little sub bass. The room is pretty well sound proof. The sub is the hardest to contain and can drive people crazy, but its under control. I could play my kit at 2 in the morning and no one would know i am in there. The seating will change shortly though, due to 5 single leather home theatre recliners. Isn't life just great

Great setup, good to see someone satisfied with their effort. The timber floor is impressive in itself, and the speakers are a good contrast to the flooring.I bet you can get a great sound from that setup as well. The whole setup looks great.

Wow how did I not see this thread sooner? Lots of B&W, I see; I'm partial to Klipsch myself. This is the only decent pic I have of my room. I'm a terrible photographer.

I bet they give off a fantastic picture. Please fill me in on your model as that would be a great help.Cheers Grassy.

Your room dosn't look to bad( but yet again i have just polished off a few beers and feeling a little dizzy ) so try and see if you can post a clearer picture so we can see your room clearer. The chair looks fine. Try your flash if you have one. Cheers Grassy

Well, I haven't had any complaints yet, even with the sub making my floor rumble during movies

I have owned the 503CMX for more than five yrs now, so it's an older model. It can't do 1080 and it doesn't have HDMI or even DVI inputs. But I consider it one of my best purchases for the enjoyment factor, and it is a very high quality screen. As you can probably tell from the photo, I use it as my computer monitor too, using an IR keyboard from my sofa. At the time I bought it, Pioneer was king. Panasonic was probably selling more plasmas and Phillips may have been selling more too. But Pioneer had the better picture by far. I believe that is still true today. Pioneer will pull ahead even further this summer when it starts rolling out its new line of plasmas that supposedly will crush the competition. The black levels, contrast ratios, half-life and other measurements are reportedly far beyond what was previously capable with plasma. I plan to get one of the new Pioneer 50" models in the next year or two. If I was you, I would wait for the new models.

I will be taking all that into account, i have been to pioneer's web site and it is impressive at the least. I currently have thier flagship VSX-AX10aig reciever-amp and an old dvd player, which still looks brand new today. Thanks for the reply Regards Grassy

Is your A/V getting good ventilation with all that stuff on top?

Good point.

Funnily enough the A/V receiver doesn't run very warm. Also, the DVD player ontop of it only runs half-way so doesn't cover the vents at the back. And the PS2 on top of that is now permanently off. The only thing that runs warm is the PS3, so I'm thinking about moving that out of the unit.

Thats one serious Sony tv, a sony like that needs more space. What are the bose speakers you have like?. Do they work practical for home theatre use.? and are they good enough for small lounge rooms and finally, after owning them would you recomend them in a small lounge room setup.? They were my first choice with my 40 inch sony lcd i am getting. After seeing yours, now i cant wait. Ah ,lifes good again
