This was the first playoff game in history to end with a pick-off. Matheny had told him his run didn't matter and not to get picked off.

They'd have been better off just intentionally walking him every at-bat.

Only player to hit over 700 in a playoff series was Lloyd McClendon in the 92 NLCS. He hit .727. But he also only had 11 ABs in 5 games. Ortiz is up to 11/15 now.

I looked up Babe Ruth. His best was .625 in the 1928 World Series. Against... the Cardinals. In a Yankees sweep.

lol....shows more people care about football I guess? The Sox are giving it to the Cards, the Cards need to step it up.....and quit leaving players stranded.....at least the games aren't blow outs like Game 1......Can't wait for Wednesday night! Cards are known for their "comebacks"....but I guess so is are the Sox.....=)

Why are the Cards pitching to Ortiz? It will end up costing them the World Series. He's literally the only Sox player hitting well. Whatever their advance scouts told them is not working.
