Why would Snake dream of a young Snake revisiting Shadow Moses? Too much has changed (day-bright, no guards, new entrance etc) in the environment and Snake's sneaking suit for it to be a memory of the past.

Viewing a higher quality MP4 version of the video it does look like they're using a new Snake head model (thought they might have just used the Twin Snakes one before) with sideburns and stubble beard (before the helicopter scene with MGS1 Snake head) but it doesn't look to me like it was designed for that purpose. It's too dark - I'd have thought the hair at least would be greyed out a bit by all the snow/frost, and seems a bit out of proportion.

The significance of the environment looking MGS4 quality is, before when I thought they might be using the Twin Snakes head, I thought they might have just whipped this up as a joke or to put us off the trail of what really happens. The press that have played the game may have loose lips.

In MGS2 trailers didn't Konami show Snake fighting bosses in MGS2 that Raiden ends up fighting?

Whatever it is, it's a very good way of getting people excited, talking about the possibilities.

1. There's yet another clone of Big Boss, created more recently that Otacon and co. help as it looks like he's wearing the same sneaking suit, octocamo etc as Snake. Unless he stole/obtained it some other way.
2. There's a cure for the clone aging that somehow turns back time on Snake's body so he looks his age.
3. Snake's taken a few too many knocks to the head and dreams crazy mixed up things in interactive fashion. Think MGS3 jail cell nightmare.
4. My brain's gone blank on the others I thought of.

He's wearing the same gear (what we assume to be) earlier in the game in an earlier trailer and we see Snake alive (what I would assume to be) after the new helipad clip so it's not like young Snake acquires the gear to finish the job after Old Snake dies or anything like that.

Oh yeah.

4. Snake is dreaming of what it would be like to revisit Shadow Moses (as he is about to in the helicopter, the conditions through the windows look like it could be Alaska) while wearing a young Snake mask. There is no Young Snake. I guess that's the same as 3. Hmm.

He's wearing the wrong sneaking suit, hasn't arrived by lift from the cave, has a powerful weapon before getting there, it's bright not dark like the original MGS so there's also no spotlights, there's no genome soldiers/guards, hard to say for sure but I don't think the truck's there.

weird little ending on that one....ends up being a computer program that Snake is plugged into...Otocan has to save him..someone is trying to get Snakes memory and you never find out who it is...

I wonder.....

From the side he appears to have Big Boss level of sideburns and beard but he may just not have shaven for a long time:

Through the snow you can see the same strap markings as here:

And at some points sideways you can see pouches hanging off his front the same as Old Snake has.

But yeah, I get what you're saying, he does seem to wear a similar suit. Only the one in the snow part is a bit blurry and hard to see. In time all truth will be reveal.

He also siderolls the same way as Old Snake with the distinctive straight leg but I can't remember if they used the exact same animation in Metal Gear Online for the random soldiers.

Looking at that animation in slow-mo I now appreciate why his back is so well padded up.. not just for bullets but for that painful collision with the ground.

I'd have thought it would be more of a hinderance for that as his upper arms are lifted away from the ground more.

edit: Something passed on to Liquid from Big Boss (possibly, it's not like other non-Big Boss clones don't have weird abilities) allowing his arm to take over Ocelot, what if some of Big Bosses memories passed onto Snake, took over and mixed with his memories. Snake's met Big Boss but not young Big Boss so he wouldn't dream his appearance from those encounters. I'm not sure Snake would have seen photos of young Big Boss either.

Do clones grow hair in exactly the same way as the cloned character? Snake may have grown his facial hair longer once.

edit2: Maybe the Big Boss in Old Snake comes out whenever he meets Old EVA, too.
