Gas Prices?

last i heard it was one of the most expensive. no big deal. it all just sucks.

especially since i live right outside of detroit. don't get good mileage with all of the city driving. and now there's construction EVERYWHERE around here. nothing like emptying your tank one a one lane street getting stuck at the same stop light 4 times.

Well right now you're stuck with the Red Wings in the playoffs. There's going to be price gouging. Its sad but it happens. Thats why during major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July prices go up. Expect gas to be on average around $4 a gallon in the Summer time. That means Groceries are still going to go up in price too. Sorry.

and that's at CostCo which is the cheapest in town!

It's shocking that my little car now is $35 per fill-up.

It helps a little that I have car that gets ~40 mpg like cajmoyper, but everyone hates paying extra.

I'll bet everyone with large family-size vehicles is really hurting.

you know..i'm not that old, but i can remember buying gas at 85 cents. and that wasn't THAT long ago!

You know, the same math the HD-DVD owners used for attach rates.

I don't live anywhere near Michigan but the media must be basing your gas prices relative to the cost of living in the area. In terms of most expensive dollar wise, no state is higher than California.

Yeah, gas reached a low of 68 cents here around 1999.

I've set my price limit on gas to be about 5 dollars. Once I see that as a sustained price point and not a holiday fluctuation, I am going to go to a bike store, purchasing a good bike, and cycling to work. This will be my way of "fighting gas prices" by removing my purchase of gas from their profits.

problem with gas and oil prices is we rely on the middle east too much for oil and they know that so they control the supply. with them constantly decreasing and refusing to increase supply, they are getting rich at the expense of the US

something needs to be done tho, high gas prices aren't helping the recession

Xtop, I think we started driving about the same time, and I remember those prices. I started driving in '97, and I remember going to get gas and it was .99 for all three grades. $1.20 was expensive.

I can't imagine five years from now. Hopefully they'll approve drilling in that place up in Alaska (can't remember what it's called, some preserve that's a barren wasteland, but people are still up in arms about drilling there). I'm gonna have to start cuttin' people if it gets worse.
