I have used this method for years to remove stickers from used games that I would buy. Unfortunately it does diddly squat on those security stickers on Blu-rays. I tried to no avail, it just doesn't come up.

I really did while reading those responses to my thread.

Seriously, Marcus, please keep your eyes on the road while driving from BB or wherever you buy your BDs instead of looking that pretty BD cover art beneath those $#@! cello wrappings.

Arrow I´ll tell you how to avoid the security sticker residue, (especially LIONSGATE)

Hi,

I know there are 2 threads about this already,
one is the anger management thread, and the other tells you to take a piece
of the removed security sticker and peel it off etc.

But for me, it doesn´t work.
I tried, and screwed it up

So, I can´t be sure that it will work without residue damage every time...

...
...

But here´s the easy way:

What you need:

Quote:
• 5 minutes or less of your life
• A Scalpel
(you can also use a little sharp kinfe, but I prefer a Scalpel because it´s really sharp / really tiny / handy)
and that´s it.

Now, I´m talking about the LIONSGATE flicks, because they are the worst
(for security stickers)

The top sticker is the easiest. You can just use your fingernails.
You won´t damage it. ... Done!

But now the right, and bottom one...

That´s the part where you should use your scalpel if you don´t want to mess it up.

The right part is easier than the bottom, cause you have the little opening gap to make a good long cut. It will peel off just fine then.

If there is this clip thing instead of a gap, (never saw it on Lionsgate though)
just do it the same way, but without any big pressure.

Last and least the bottom,... no bigger gap this time, but it´ll be enough.

Orientate yourself on the case, and cut it along the line.
(The line will guide you, you can´t do it wrong)

Now you can either open the case and remove the sticker easily, or if your not 100% sure, take your fingernails or scalpel to lift the sticker and peel it off.

Everything works just fine, and you won´t do any damage to the case.

I´ve been doing this with all my Lionsgate films,
and no frickin´ residues anymore

I do the same thing with a very sharp knife, but sometimes the residue still remains. I absolutely hate the triple threat that Lionsgate put us through.

I also cut my security stickers down the middle but it has never done anything to prevent the sticky residue.

DO THIS !!!!!!

Cut them down the middle, open the case, then grab each sticker and rip it off as fast as u possibly can and you will not have any residue at all! Works for me every single time.

Oh please, a little rubbing alcohol or Windex removes the residue.

I have a silver sharpie so technically I could repaint the logo.

I just use an axe. Sometimes it works, sometimes I am out buying a new disc. It is hard to explain to a customer service counter trying to return a Blu-ray disc that, "it just came that way."

Why not set it on fire and burn the glue out.

Default Anybody else sick of Lionsgate BD's and the Crappy Tape Residue?

I am so sick of blowing $25-$30 bones on Lionsgate BD's and when i go to open up the packaging the stupid security tape crap leaves this sticky residue all over the case! I've tried just about everything to get that s**t off, including reapplying the tape and ripping it off as fast as I can, alcohol swabs, lighter fluid, adheisive remover, Nothing works Damnit! I don't know about the rest of you guys but when I dump my hard earned cash on BD's I want the case to look good also! Anyone have any good suggestions to remedy this problem besides not buying Lionsgate BD's? for example I just bought The Punisher today and of course that friggin tape screwed up the case!

I assume you are talking about that stupid square security sticker right? Then I am with you on this problem. It happens with the fox/mgm titles as well as some disney titles. I wish they just dont use them or if they do, put them on a piece of paper that can be thrown away without having to waste time pulling them off. I dont mind the rectangle one so much. Just that god aweful square one. At least WB doesnt do them.

Studios.....PLEASE FOR GOD'S SAKE STOP USING THOSE DANG SQUARE SECURITY STICKERS!!!!!!!!

I am going to paste in the insiders threads to see if they can pass this request on.
