Default Turn on time for plasmas?

Of all the forum stuff I've read regarding plasmas I've not seen a thing about how long it takes for them to "warm up" ?

Are they instant on? I would think so, but didn't know because I had some old TVs that took awhile to come into focus so-to-speak.

Thanks in advance for not flaming me for stupid questions.

I wouldn't worry about plasma because they are going the way of the dinosaur. Only a couple of compaines still make plasma. Pioneer is no longer making plasma and they were the best at them. To answer your question, plasma turn on time is pretty much the same as LCD.

my panny takes about 5sec to go from black to perfect. its a shame plasma's are going out, but i guess with lcds getting to better black lv's its a good thing. my tv eats 4x as much power as an lcd.

Yeah I don't really care about them going the way of the dinosaur, I'm getting one anyways. You could have left your opinion out regarding that, plenty of that stink in the other threads re: death to plasma.

Thanks for your responses though!

That isn't true. Pioneer is outsourcing it's plamsa displays to Panasonic and they are going to start making their own LCD line of Kuro displays.

Can you search for stuff before you go around posting false information.

Plasma is the #1 technology for picture quality and the pricing is now better than LCD for 50" 1080p sets.

Pioneer isn't going anywhere, neither is Samsung or Panasonic.

Plasma unit sales were up in 5% Q4/07, setting an all time quarterly high.

OK, now, back to the topic, "Warm-up" went out with the advent of "solid-state".

It's not "whatever" - it's you're wrong, plain and simple.
It's not a debatable opinion, it's just flat out wrong.
Learn from it instead of acting crass.

Pioneer is outsourcing the manufacturing of the glass panels. That's it. I don't know why this kind of thing makes everyone say that Pioneer is getting out of the plasma TV game. They're not as efficient at manufacturing the panels so they're outsourcing. It's smart business. The idea is to make more money.

Nope, I just want you to not act crass when you've been given important information. I don't want you to be here spreading false information about plasma technology to people looking for valid information. Yes, that's a big deal.

Show a little couth. Your cookie comment is pretty immature.
