This show is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the recording industry. A bunch of no talent hacks judging other no talent hacks who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket if their lives depended on it, getting contracts they do not deserve!

A complete slap in the face for real bands that are out there everyday playing gigs and trying to get noticed!

ok, so i guess carrie underwood is a no talent hack and chris daughtry is a no talent hack i think its about time for fresh talent and thats what this show produces

Pretty much yes, i prefer bands that can write music, sing their own songs and play instruments like all bands that have come before them. A pretty face or singing a cover song is only going to get you so far which is why every one of these winners disappears of the face of the earth a few years after winning!

ya its called a start. they will be writing their own songs when they have their contracts, like daughtry and underwood. i also hear ya on the band thing. i do agree, but i think some of these singers are legit and do work hard to get where they are. David cook has wrote his own songs, has played in his own band and is a bartender for work to help support his career. But not anymore man!!!

At least that is what the show was like for most people with DVR's, myself included. At least the replayed the announcement pretty much everywhere but man Fox needs to bring this show in on time.

i hear ya and have had this happen a few times to me, but i learned quickly. just add 10 minutes to these kinds of shows and you usually get it all.

i think chris daughtry has also done really well and he was not even the winner that year. he got kicked off i think 4th to last. he is very successful so far

I don't like the show (my wife is the reason I end up watching it), but this season Cook blew me away, and I ended up totally rooting for him (while my wife got progressively less interested, as she was rooting for either Carly or Michael Johns).

He will go farther than Daughtry and possibly Clarkson, mark my words

It depends on who your talking about. Milli Vanilli for example sold 14 million albums and 30 million singles, most of which came from one album, on the other hand Zeppelin sold 111.5 million albums. I'm not saying Carrie Underwood is untalented, I've actually never heard a song by her, I'm just saying don't judge how talented someone is by the number of albums they have sold.

+1 for this. I see all kinds of American Idol wanna be's come through the studio. Most of them are mediocre, and really have no chance. I got disinterested in the show when I realize it was more about popularity than real singing talent.

That's where I got to. I love watching/hearing people sing, even if it's just karaoke . . . if they can sing. But most of the people want to "Mariah Carey" every single song where they have to turn one note into a slur of 40.
