Yeah, more Roeg is always good (well, I haven't heard good things about any of his post-Insignificance films but I haven't personally seen them). Hopefully they update it as it's good to hear Roeg talking about his films, but it's looking like just a straight upgrade of their DVD. Except they presented it in it's "original as-filmed aspect ratio of 1.33:1" (which is presumably what they're now offering as an extra) instead of the Roeg approved 1.78:1.

The deleted scenes (nearly an hour) and behind the scenes footage appear to be missing from Last Seduction. It's understandable that the extended cut remains in SD as the extra scenes were cut in from the only available source, a VHS from the director's archive. Oddly, the episode of Fallen Angels was missing the introductory voiceover on the DVD, I wonder if it will be corrected. I'd really like to see Fallen Angels get a blu release if possible, it was an excellent series with many well known faces and The Black Bargain is an absolute knockout.
No need for me to get Medusa Touch as it looks identical to the US which I already have. I'll buy Insignificance, it's interesting but never escapes the limitations of the play. I'd really like to see Roeg's Eureka get a decent blu, the film was reviled on release but has been reassessed and is rather good. There is an Australian blu but it's mediocre with lossy sound. |

Count me in for The Last Seduction.
I'm on the fence with Insignificance. Roeg for me is director whose films can be a frustrating watch, although the use of editing in the likes of Bad Timing and Don't Look Now are superb and both are much more rewarding on subsequent viewings. But Roeg holds the award in my eyes for most disappointing film with Eureka. Some critics viewed it as a pre-cursor of There Will Be Blood, with an interesting and powerful cast of Hackman, Russell, Rourke, Pesci and Rutger, which put it at the top of my must see list when it was release on DVD several years back. I was left to endure rather than enjoy what played out, with only glimpses of the brilliance of Roeg's earlier works and for the most part... boring. Which has put me on the fence with viewing his later works such as Insignificance, maybe I'll try before I buy. ![]() |

+1 for both of those titles. Black Widow is owned by Fox. Not sure about the current ownership of Carnal Knowledge, although I know it was released on DVD by MGM in the States.

I'm also not very familiar with Ken Russells films outside of Mona Lisa so it would be great to see the sexy Theresa Russell in high definition. ![]() Thank you Network, between The Last Seduction and Tales Out Of School, you are fast becoming one of my favourite UK distributors ![]() THIS is how it's done, Arrow. Ok, back to the yank boards now. |

Mona Lisa was directed by Neil Jordan but if you haven't seen Ken Russell's The Devils, it gets my highest recommendation. I have yet to see a Ken Russell film that wasn't entertaining - even if The Lair of the White Worm isn't a cinematic masterpiece, it's still fun for its entirety. |
