Say what you want about Pineda, he stood by his locker after the game and faced the media (he didn't run out or duck from them), accepted responsibility and will serve the suspension. I just hope the players union brings up getting the pine tar being allowed to be used by pitchers.

Yes, because this is clearly a smart statement:

That doesn't make it any less against the rules. And when your excuse is "I didn't know I'd put that much on" it's a bad excuse.

Yes still a rule, but why is he still being paid for his suspension? Oh no doubt it was dumb. Farrell had no choice but to report Pineda when it's that obvious. How about the green substance bright as day on Lester's glove in the World Series? Pretty blatant but no one really cared.

Umpires will no longer be calling the new "transfer rule" as its written. Imagine official language will be removed in the winter meetings.

Major League Baseball made its first major adjustment of the replay era on Friday, going back to a less strict interpretation of the transfer rule, effective immediately.

Starting Friday night, umpires will rule on catches the way they did in the past, using more of a common-sense approach rather than following the letter of the law, according to major-league sources.

A catch, forceout or tag will be considered legal if a fielder has control of the ball in his glove, but drops the ball after opening his glove to transfer the ball to his throwing hard, sources said. No longer will the fielder be required to successfully get the ball into his throwing hand.

As much as I love Sandoval, he is not worth 100 mil. He had one good season and postseason...that's it. Cut him loose and move Posey out from behind the dish. Posey was a shortstop in college so there shouldn't be to much of a learning curve.

Actually, there is. 3B isn't called "the hot corner" for nothing. If and when they move Posey out from behind home plate, they'll move him to 1B. I do agree with "Sandoval isn't worth 100mil".
