Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th and Halloween are classic horror movies and they would be nice on blu-ray.

I would also like to see Scream and The Excorcist on blu-ray.

Looking back at the horror movies from the 80s, some of them are actually quite cheesy, especially Nightmare on Elm Street but nonetheless they would be nice to have.

Although its not probably the same PQ, I have Dish Network HD and I get a Monster channel that is supposedly HD. I have yet to see any of the above titles though. Hell Raiser, Carrie, and Army of Darkness have been shown just to name a few.

Scream is a definate.

Not sure if I want too much Clarity for the classics. They were scary enough.

I wonder if Blu-ray would expose alot of the movies like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St. being the clarity would make some of the cheap props, look, how do I put it, cheap.

granted im looking forward to it anyways. Seeing a crystal clear Jason in his mask, would be a real treat.

Can you imagine the sound effects? id piss my pants.

Some of those are decent, but alot are what I consider B class horror flicks. But hopefully, some of the classics will make its way soon.

Have you heard of "Extreme Asia?" I heard about them when I got to Japan. I read somewhere that they may bring movies to BD. All of their movies are either dubbed on subtitleds in english. These movies top almost every american scary movie I've ever seen. American scary movies are "hack 'em up" movies, not scary and very predictable. These movies, on the other hand, have good stories behind the nefariousness. They always make my wife jump out of her seat. I can never guess when that BOO!!! effect is coming. They're the best so look out for them. Oh yeah, I've recently bought "Face" and "A tale of two Sisters" on dvd because I know that these movies are that good.

Here's the link. http://www.asiaextremefilms.com/
Some you can get from Amazon

Default Where Has All The Horror Gone?

Even if it comes on BD - where is it? Im talking there has yet to be a heart pounding, piss your pants, jump out of your seat, go home crying, scared to be in your house by yourself thriller.

Do they not make them anymore? The latest ones either try waay to hard like Black Christmas - was ok. Or there is too much killing to the point its just stupid. Too much blood does not fly.

I honestly can't remember that last great thriller. Anyone else?

To me it seems like hollywood wants to spit out PG-13 horror movies, which defeats the purpose of the genre.

28 weeks later was good, but I didn't like how shaky the camera was at times.

The devil's rejects is one of my favorite horror flicks....and it's on BD...

I'd like some of the older movies, though...

maybe The Shining and something else..

Takes away from the experience that you are THERE! Reminds me that its just a movie after all and I get sad lol

The Last GOOD horror movie i saw was....(after 2 minutes of thinking) Gravedancers which I saw as 1 of the 8 films being shown at the After Dark Horrorfest Film Festival. Had to pay like $300 for all 8 movies for me and 2 friends, but it was worth it lol. Any of those 8 movies easily could be the best horror movies made recently.

Wow The Exorcist on BD would be great if they maximised the bitrate and went all-out on the audio.

Alien and Aliens shouldn't be far away as big catalogue sellers.
