The american releases with subs are always worth turning off.. bandai has terrible subs and always has.

I own counter attack on dvd, and a few episodes of others...

Well now it just needs to make it stateside... bandai I command you...

I remember bandai made some announcement about gundam 00...

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...undam-00-anime
"The North American distributor Bandai Entertainment has announced at its New York Comic Con 2008 panel on Friday that it has licensed the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 anime series and the Ghost Slayers Ayashi manga.

Director Seiji Mizushima (Fullmetal Alchemist) remade the Gundam robot anime mythos for the 25-episode Gundam 00 television series which aired from last October to this past March. The story takes place on an Earth fractured by the control of energy and centers on four Gundam Meister pilots who execute a controversial plan to eradicate war. "

I knew I could find the article

Yeah, I know. The official UC Gundam subs have a lot of errors and liberal translations, especially when they use "Feddies" and "Zeeks" all the time in situations when the Japanese just says "Federation" and "Zeon" in a non-derogatory manner. The guy who did the subs for CCA, Kevin McKeown, really messed up Banner of the Stars as well from what I heard. And don't get me started on the Z Gundam subtitles that were further from Japanese than the English dub... at least they partially fixed those.

I only listen to a few things in English. And usually only when I am doing something else like eating or drawing or talking... I like to have shows on in the background sometimes.

But if I am actually watching (and not eating) the show, Japanese with subtitles. Sure the subtitles are wrong sometimes, but I can figure out enough Japanese to tell how wrong they are usually and it doesn't bother me. Someday i hope to turn them off and keep them off, and understand all the Japanese perfectly... someday.

The 00 series will almost certainly be coming out in the US and with subs on Blu. The folding of Bandai Visual into Bandai Ent should result in better coordination between Japan and the US. There was a lot of talk at Tokyo Anime Fest about things like simultaneous releases and how important they were to stop piracy

Char/F91/Escaflowne/Bebop did not include subs at the request of the US licensor (Bandai Entertainment and Sony)

I like Appleseed for the most part. I do get tired of hearing Dunan yelling "Brearios" over and over again though. Otherwise,.. I enjoy it.

What do you mean they did not include subs?
I clearly remember watching Escaflowne and Cowboy Bebop in Japanese with subtitles on my DVDs...
Did I misunderstand you there?

The Blu-ray versions out in Japan are the only ones Bandai Visual did with no english subs

I just looked, Neil Nadelman did the earlier subtitles that included the "Feddies" stuff. If I remember correctly that was a request by Bandai brass, as Neil usually is pretty careful about that sort of thing

Sometimes I listen to the japanese and prefer that, and sometimes I do not, when something is something ive heard a long time ago and watched frequently I sorta put the voice to the character and once that is so I accept that voice as that character.

What I usually can not stand is when what im hearing and the subs do not match it hurts my head.. and I just turn the subs off. Minor discrepancies are okay just well sometimes its just too much where there right field exiting the ball park.

Just remeber its Char-tastic.

I do not connect how simultaneous releases would stop piracy.. it may slow down because there would be less reason for those people to do so...

As long as there are sites that can sub and release the entire series for for free there will be piracy.

In fact its probably already happened to 00...
