Default The last time Adam Sandler was funny....?

I think it may have been happy gilmore, but so far, he hasnt been funny in a long time. Billy madison was great, and that one movie with the kid was okay.

I agree with you 100%. WTH happened to his career? 50 first dates was ok but click sucked and after that it got worse. big daddy was pretty good and I think thats when he stopped being funny IMO.

The Wedding Singer. It was funny because of him. So was Anger Management, just replace Sandler with Nicholson.

Yeah, I still think Wedding Singer holds up, and a serious assist from Billy Idol never hurts.

Zohan is going to be excruitiating, it would seem.

Click was pretty good, the last "great" Sandler movie was Big Daddy.

His low point was Little Nicky.

I know Pronounce you Chuck and Larry was hilarious, although I'm having a hard time remembering if Adam Sandler is funny in it or if it's just everyone else.

I'm going with Big Daddy as he was pretty funny in it as well as the supporting characters.

I remember laughing a little at Click, and The wedding singer. He hasn't made me drop dead laugh in a long while though.

Hey, I was going to say that

"Heya...welcom to wuss-ta! Dollah twenty five, please."

Sandler's one of those guys (like Ben Stiller) that I don't find necessarily funny, but amusing enough to usually hold my interest. I thought he was great in Wedding Singer & 50 First Dates, and Happy Gilmore & Waterboy were mindless fun because of the whole package--not necessarily him. I liked Click as a whole, but his performance held back the story I thought. I think someone intended that film to be Sandler's "Truman Show" and give him a better transition out of low-brow comedy, but it didn't work. Didn't see "Reign over me" but after click I didn't think he'd be able to pull off a REAL serious role.

Not surprising, from a woman I dated (who was friends with a comedian who's friends with him) I heard he's high all the frickin time.

We have never paid to see one of his movies at the theater but I can say over time when watching his movies on DVD/Blu, I've come to appreciate his movies.

His productions provide entertainment. Exactly what I sit down to enjoy when watching a rental.

Kudos to him for keeping up the good work.

Waterboy was one of my favorites! Longest Yard too although that was less about Sandler

That is why Zohan will be funny. He is going back to his older more "character" roles of ridiculousness.

I just watched I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry last night, so the timing of this thread is on cue I thought Chuck and Larry was terrible. Don't really have a problem with gay jokes, or jokes about anybody, including myself, really, but it got to the point where, when they're at the grocery store and they're like, "This is gay, that's gay," I was just like, who thought this would be funny? In a world where being gay is much more acceptable, even common, it seems like this missed its window by about ten years. It felt like I was sitting in a middle school locker room with all the lame gay remarks. If I were gay, I can't even imagine how extra-awful this would be.

I think the last movie I liked Sandler in for being funny (at the time I saw it, at least) was probably The Waterboy, but that one doesn't quite hold up and I really can't watch it anymore. I can always watch Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison though, so I'd have to go with one of those. I liked Click, but not because it was Sandler at his finest.
