I hope someone here gets one of the "good" numbers like 1, 666 (ironic I know), or whatever else. I love when that happens where we actually get to hear from someone that got it.

I would doubt it, as well. I am sure that some of the orders placed will be for the two copy limit.

Same situation here.

Unrelated Double-Feature plans: I'm definitely setting up a DF with Dust Devil and Nightbreed.
I think they found the VHS footage in '08 or later, but started their hunt for it in '03. If somebody can correct me if I am wrong, I would love to know

Sorry for the silly question. So the collector's edition will have all of the special features (TBD at this point) ? The bare bones will not?

select people here: "theres no way they will get much money from anyone with that ridiculous price point!"

*sells 1000 copies overnight*

select people here: "...well...RIDICULOUS PRICE ARGH!"

this feels like a recurring trend.

Yeah. Someone else mentioned they were expecting weeks before 1000 sold. They sell all 1000 overnight, and they think the remaining 4000 copies will take up to 6 months to sell.

I'm now considering a second LE. It seems like there will be a market for them after they're all sold.

I wish they didn't, honestly. I wish people would complain to SF about the ridiculous price and boycott the release. But you know they won't because there are suckers born every minute.

So to clarify, we're paying extra for bonus features, poster, and limited edition slipbox? Is that correct? Both the barebones and collector's editions will contain the same cuts of the film? Is that accurate or am I way off?

LE also has the theatrical cut.....the bare bones version doesn't.

Regular edition has the Cabal cut on Blu Ray and the original version on DVD only.
Limited edition has the Cabal cut and the original version on Blu Ray plus a disc of extras.
Bit harsh that the only way to get the original version on Blu Ray is by purchasing the limited edition but that's how it is

The Regular version doesn't have the theatrical cut at all.

That's not right. The Regular Edition has the Cabal cut (well, the longer director's version, actually) on a Blu and the same longer cut on a DVD. The original theatrical version is not included on the Regular Edition. I think Shout said Warner would only let them include the theatrical version as long as it was in a limited edition set.

EDIT: dorothyv beat me to it.

Yeah, but $25 to $80 is a huge leap from what SF is offering. Defend the price all you want, but $80 is ridiculous for what they're offering. For $80, there better be a BOATLOAD of special features. I just can't justify spending $80 on a limited edition for 1 film.
