What division? little league? If anything, you're the one waving the pom poms for a team that's on pace to win 81 games (if lucky). Which is even worse than last years team.

And that near DP is a perfect example why we are a trash team. They don't play small ball (when you are struggling to score runs, you try to steal bases, hit and run), instead they wait around for the 3 run homer. Yet, I'm the delusional one.

Last 10 of the first half are against 3 of the 5 worst teams in the NL, and with the last 7, it's 17 straight against 4 of the 5 worst.

29 years since the legendary "Rick Camp Game" in Atlanta... And here you can hear the famous John Sterling call of why it's called the "Rick Camp Game"

Unfortunately, he gave up 5 runs in the top of the 19th, and struck out to end the game, again as the tying run.

The game was crazy....
Mets were up 7-4 headed into the bottom of the 8th, when the Braves got 4, all with 2 outs (though 2 of the runners were on base to start the inning). Then the Mets tied it in the 9th. In the 13th, the Mets got 2 before the Braves hit a 2-run HR with 2 outs in the bottom. Then the 18th, the Mets got another run before Rick Camp's heroics. It was Camp's final season, and he went 13/175 (.074) in his career.

Other fun facts:
- Keith Hernandez went 4 for 10 and hit for the cycle. 2B, 3B and HR in the first 8, and then a single in the 12th.
- Darryl Strawberry and manager Davey Johnson were ejected in the 17th for arguing balls and strikes. Home plate umpire Terry Tata said after the game that "there aren't any bad calls at 3 a.m."
- The game took 6 hours to play and with some rain delays, didn't end until around 4 am on July 5, at which point the Braves set off the previously scheduled fireworks. Some local residents thought the city was under attack. It's the latest any MLB game has ever ended.
- The Mets watched the sunrise on their way back to the hotel.

Wow! Cubs traded Samardzija and Hammel to the As.

The Cubs will receive the A’s top two prospects in shortstop Addison Russell, 20, and outfielder Billy McKinney, 19. Baseball America ranked Russell as the No. 14 prospect in baseball entering 2014. He was batting .333 in 13 games at Double-A Midland after missing most of the season because of a hamstring injury.

The Cubs also will receive Triple-A Sacramento pitcher Dan Straily and a player to be named.

As a Cubs fan I don't really understand this trade. The last thing the Cubs need is another infield prospect. They've already got Starlin Castro at shortstop and their top 2 prospects are SS Javier Baez and 3B Kris Bryant.
