Godfather 2 clocks in at 3 hours 20 minutes and is fullscreen 1.78:1 and looks GORGEOUS - in fact I consider the boat house scenes as the definitive test as to how well your blacks appear if you can see the difference in Michael's black hair and the line between the black silk and linen on his vest, but I digress.

The picture is going to be fine, so stop with the senseless hating. By doing so you're showing you kind of don't know what you're talking about.

Also those cards look like they might be the 1960s Batman cards, but I think there were more than 44 of them and I cant tell from the artwork if it's a match cuz of their angle and size. Anyone know?

No Batgirl pilot is odd, perhaps as an easter egg I hope.

ETA: while writing this several have beaten me to the punch. Shoo.
Sorry to interrupt the handbags flying in, but you're right about possible Easter eggs for the missing Batgirl pilot being a nice touch if they want to do that.

It's also possible that they didn't list every single bonus feature, just the ones they thought were the most important.

Hopefully now that the big announcement is over with, we will see a full press release soon with hi-res pictures.

WB claimed ALL would be revealed, so according to them and the previous info, if not said at ComicCon it will not be in it

And a big corporation like WB could never make an accidental omission, or say anything misleading.

I might be banned for saying it, but with all respect Julie Newmars ass was years ahead of its time, and many will never catch up with it.

I was kind of expecting more in the way of blu-ray bonus features.
I thought those were just more digipacks. Not books. The 3 with the villains on them only appear to maybe have 3 discs each inside. I could be wrong though.

Other than the movie, yeah I was kinda expecting those bonuses on there too. Would've been perfect additions.

The episode layout is rather odd. Why put so many episodes on most of the discs, and then have some with only 6, and one with only 2 (less than an hour)? Really bizarre, you'd think they would spread them out more evenly.

Think of a show like BEWITCHED where every main actor is long gone; only a few guest stars remain. Same with GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, THE MUNSTERS, MY FAVORITE MARTIAN and so on.

I think I'll get extra enjoyment knowing that Adam, Burt, Jule and Yvonne are here to enjoy the acclaim of their fans.
Amen. Well said. Such happy shows too.

Understood, but I have a feeling that little car (we'll have to look for verification to scale) looks to be an exclusive scale - not a little "matchbox" car - Hot Wheels does all kinds of scales now, and I'm betting that Hot Wheels collectors would pay a nice sum for that on eBay. Some of them need it in every scale.

Precisely. Particularly since the aspect ratio means they are not filling a full wide-screen image.

If the image quality does suffer, certainly I'll be in line to complain - but it's a bit too early to judge right now, and folks flipping out about it at this point are just...flipping out.

That being said, I'm typically okay with just getting the regular version over the big box set if it's something I'm not a die hard fan of, but that Batmobile car in the set looks intriguing....
I didn't expect the movie, especially since it's so ubiquitous and inexpensive (it's $6.64 on Amazon right now), and so many of us already have it.

I own Adam West Naked - and I can think of several reasons it was not included - chief among which Adam West likely didn't want it to be, as it's a big seller on his website, especially for signed versions. That would be cannibalizing his income stream. Whatever paltry amount he might have gotten to license it likely wouldn't have been worth it for him, especially since they will probably start selling like hotcakes due to this release. Having seen it, it's also...very odd - it's really unique. It's not something I think the average joe would find entertaining, to be honest - you have to have a certain sense of humor and it's just not - mainstream.

As to the other extras folks have mentioned from other releases (Batmania), I presume it's the same thing - they were not produced by Fox, they would have had to be licensed, and there was little incentive even if approached for folks to do it - why get a few cents a copy for giving Fox the content, when you can re-release the content yourself to coincide with this release? It's all native SD anyway, so all they have to do is put the DVDs back in print.

That said, I do wish they had some commentaries on there - as well as a few tidbits like the Batgirl pilot. I'm more surprised about the lack of commentaries (aside from what appears to be on the first two episodes by West alone). I'll be happy should more appear, but content with what is offered.

But, honestly, uncut, fully complete episodes - I'm in. That's what really matters, I have everything else one way or another, and I'm just so so so glad they are in proper disc hubs - now THAT would have sent me looking for the international version if they were in cardboard sleeves/slots. I'm so glad they didn't make us have to deal with that one.

.
I'm actually surprised at the lack of commentaries. West and Ward seemed to have a blast on the Batman movie commentary. I figured there would be a few on this set too.

It also makes me wonder what Burt was talking about last year when he said they had done them on "all the episodes". I'm wondering if he just didn't exactly understand what a commentary was, and thought the interviews done for the new extras may have been it.

I look forward to the press release, though - just for some clarification on a few points (though, nothing it's going to say will sway my decision to purchase, it's the episodes I want more than all else).
