Disapointing series for me. I didn't really care who won seeing how my bulls weren't in it. I said I wanted to see quality basketball. It was very one sided in most cases. I felt the lakers just played well below what they were capable of and basically sucked. Congrats to the celtics. they deserve the glory. I'm happy for doc, paul. ray, kg, and pj brown. Those guys played long without a tittle and it is good to see them get one.

I hope the lakers learned something. They really need to improve the sf position. This would have been a much better series if bynum was in it. disapointing imo.

eh... maybe I'm just depressed the nba season is over. That always happens this time of the year. NBA draft 9 days away! my bulls- number 1 pick!

Yeah, can't agreed more on Gasol. Then again, he ain't the only Laker played below expectation.

Also, we actually have guys who can play the SF spot better, and I am still not exactly sure why Jackson stuck with Radmanovic at the 3.

Hey, I feel the same, dude. I hate not having any b-ball in the summer also. So, who would you pick at #1? At this point, I think I would go with Rose, but that can change. Your thoughts?

Gasol needs to workout. Radmanovic shouldn't be a starter. I've always felt that his defense is sub-par, his choices are usually stupid, and he's not very skilled.

Series is over, vacation time and a huge lock on this thread
Congrats to the celts they came out big time in game 6 and they deserve this championship, Lakers looked pathetic in all those games... Celts were stronger mentally and won the series.
I also hope Baron Davis and the crew will have a better season next year, they are very exciting to watch, remind of Kings in their haydays.

Yeah KOBE now you can go enjoy your wine, 20 shots and some beer. A Jordan led team would never have let that happen...

To be fair, Jordan never had a entire bench full of stiffs either. Believe me I'm no Kobe fan but i can respect his game and Shaq was not walking through that door last night.

It was just glaringly evident how soft these European players are that come to the states, if they are smart they stop picking them up and get some players that are tuff in the paint, Bynum will help this problem out.

Great game there is no denying Kobe is probably the best player in the league (as of now and I hate him) but the Celtics have been and are the best all around team....

Very true. i think kobe could have used somemore help. you cant win on one guy, it has to be a team effort. that is what the celtics did, a team effort

I'll trade D-wade for Kobe anyday.

I love my boy D-Wade, but Kobe is the best in the league...followed by Timmy Duncan and Chris Paul.

wow, its pretty funny how everyone says all these different guys in the NBA are the best in the league, but yet the celtics win the championship and no one from the team is even considered the best in the league

well i guess they are just the best team in the league as they have proven that well by beating ever team in the playoffs to win the championship

You apparently missed the stint with the Wizards.

Obviously not the way I thought it would go, but have to give the Celtics credit for their defense that took Gasol and Odom so much out of their games. Kobe can't do it all alone... and neither could Jordan until he had the proper cast built up around him (see the Jordan Wizards or the Bulls from the mid 80s through 1990).

As good as the Celtics change from the previous year was, the Lakers year was almost as good, except they only got one good trade to net the difference. Hopefully they can make some moves in the offseason. A good power forward or backup center to Bynum is what's needed most, as both Odom and Gasol are softer shooting types.

Just because the best team wins the championship doesn't mean they have the best player.

The Celtics definitely played a better Finals than the Lakers but this was still almost as sloppy as last years. We're a long way from the great games of the 80s. 1984, 1985, and 1987 finals were much better Boston and LA teams that neither of the 2008 squads measure up to.

The Celtics, in particular, had an atrocious playoff run until they got going (at least in comparison to the Lakers) in the Finals.

There's no reason to think that either of these teams are worse than their 80's counterparts. If anything, they're better. Why? There were so many more good teams in the league this year than in any years past. There are way more really good players in the league today than there has ever been, pace in the games is so much faster. The only thing teams of the past can claim to be better than either of these teams is that they could bang down low better. The western conference was deep as hell this year and the Lakers got through (8 50-win teams!?!?!?) and then the Celtics (66 regular season wins, top 10 ever?) beat them. This was probably the best season of NBA basketball ever. <- that's a period

FYI, it happens all the time, just as it did this year. Any person with a sense of NBA history knows this and shouldn't be confused " ". Same goes for baseball, hockey, football and many other sports. This isn't golf or singles tennis

They were the best team this year, that's typically what it means when you win the title Based on the way the Lakers and Celtics were playing prior to the championship series the Lakers were playing better and I expected them to win. Come the championship series both teams did a 180 and hence the result.

The 1985 or 1987 (or even 2001) Lakers would annihilate the 08 squad. They were just as deep and far more talented, as well as possesing much more teamwork. One superstar makes it difficult it difficult at best. When you have 2 or even 3, it's a clincher. The superior teamwork, speed, and yes physicality of both teams far exceed anything we saw.

I know this because I just got done watching the 1987 Finals Game 4 DVD (from the Lakers set). Talk about physical... brawl mid game as Worthy punches that white guy with the brown mustache in the face! No ejections, either. lol

The 1984, 1985, and 1986 Celtics would equally decimate the 08 Celtics.

It's really impossible to compare era's these day's, hell if the 80's lakers and celtics played last night with those refs, both teams starters would be all fouled out within the first half. It's just a completely different game now compared to decades past.
