Problem fixed then? Do you think if I ordered one direct they'd send me the corrected disc or just one of the old ones and see if I noticed? Be good if you guys could tell us if there's a code on the disc to differentiate between faulty and corrected discs

Slightly disappointed (but not too much) that The Lady Vanishes and The Man Who Knew Too Much have been pushed back to early next year. Just a guess, but if it means getting the transfer and audio right, then I have no complaints.

Looks like Animal Farm and Unearthly Stranger are the only Blu-ray film titles left which are yet to be released by Network this year.

Yeah bit of a bummer, dunno if it's transfer related though as all of their November releases have been put back to early 2015 now. In fact, almost all of their blu-ray releases have been put back at some stage. My guess is they have too much on their plate with a lot of DVD series' and the Supermarionation boxset/events/documentary. I hope there's a sale soon as there are a few of their older titles I'd like to pick up, and I'm tempted to get some of the recent ones too (The Shout looks pretty good...or at least funny if it's not).

Well I did send them an email regarding The Last Seduction a few days ago and how I hoped that they were doing right by it transfer wise so maybe that has something to do with it.

I noticed. I know Arrow has had short delays on many of their releases (and long ones on a couple) but Network are ridiculous. They're like the UK Media Blasters.

Just got review discs for the 2nd season of The Professionals. Had a skim through and it looks great, just as good as the first release quality wise.

It's a bit weird. The BFI too, even Eureka. I wonder why it's such a widespread thing...don't seem to remember it happening very often last year or the year before.

Just gave the replacement Capricorn One a check and the faults are gone, still some brutal banding in the opening scene though.

They really ought to withdraw The Quiller Memorandum and try again, it took some nerve (or blind employees) to release it in that state.

It's pretty much the same as the ITV release, the grain is a little bit tighter. It's an old master but worth a look if your a fan. Audio is a little shifty too in places too. If you can find it fairly cheap I'd give it a shot

Yep! looks outstanding. One of Network's best thus far IMO.

...aaaaaaand that's why I'll stick with the ITV disc. There's still a slight bit of banding in that opening shot, but it's not as "brutal" (couldn't have put it better myself) as the new encode. What is going on with UK encodes lately?

I might shoot network an email, see what they say about it.

Network have added a Blu-ray film title to The British Film and Forthcoming sections on their website, which is being released next year (title and it's release date is subject to change):

The Thief of Bagdad (1940) - Monday 26th January.

Because of all these releases coming out at the same time, I totally missed this. Thanks for the post, as this is my favourite Skolimowski, and arguably his masterpiece (destabilizing film).

The PQ is excellent, however i had some big issues with the sound. The volume levels are all over the place and the dialogue is very hard to hear throughout the film. I usually have my TV volume between 7 & 10, i had to turn it up to 30 for some scenes . I watched the whole film with my finger hovering on the remote volume.

Excuse my ignorance, but is this based on the same story as the forthcoming MOC release of the 1924 version?
