Why not just hire help to get them out early? The studios can certainly afford it.

I don't work for them so I don't know how it get's done. I'd rather it take 6 years and be jaw dropping then rushed and look like lethal weapon 2

just because these movies are all on dvd and have doubles and triples of the series out didn't mean they just came out two years after dvd was released.

and why is there no big catalog blockbusters? because they would sell like crap.

The best selling blu-ray has only sold about 400k and we all know that catalog titles sell worse than day-and-dates, so the very best Star Wars or Indiana Jones is going to sell is 300k probably, which Lucas is not going to waste his time with. He wants to be able to sell millions when they come out.

+ after a couple months the prices would fall and lot's of people would be able to find the set dirt cheap, I do think 300-400k is a little low considering certin "blockbuster's"

It's not their lack of capacity when it comes to a Lucas title..... that has been pointed out already...... Lucas will hold onto them for years.... in order to garner top dollar for them.

The BDA doesn't want potentially high selling blockbusters on Blu-Ray.

As a matter of fact, they most absolutely will, along with all of the LOTR movies.

if they have been DNRed to death to get rid of the grain I will not buy. Film should look like film. It is not a video game it is not video. I want it just as it was shot. I'm pretty sure the director knew what they were doing and grain was part of that.

When standalone player prices reach $199 and start moving some serious units, you'll start seeing some bigger blockbusters released. Plus, studios have to have a reason to release certain titles. It's the ol' "tie-in" deal. We'll probably see Jurassic Park released when part 4 hits theaters. That's after a large amount of players have been sold. There's no reason to release that title right now.
