Starbucks and McDonalds supports AT&T WiFi. In fact, I can get on those networks with no problem at all using my laptop. However, the PSP can't connect. The PSP, when I scan, will find the SSID (attwifi), but when I select it and move to the right to continue setting it up, I get options like WEP, etc. I have no idea what to choose or how to continue setting it up and I am never able to get something going.

Any help would be appreciated.
WEP is password encripted. it requires a password in order to use that connection. you need to find a hotspot with no security or have the password. when scanning it will say "security-none". if it says any thing else under security it requires a password.
