Default With the increasing quality of DVDs, is it possible Blu-Ray may not flourish?

If so what would become of high def?

It's really not the DVD (software) that is getting that much better, it's the new technology (hardware) to upconvert. I've read some interesting reports which included screenshots comparing an upconverted (480P to 1080P) image and a Blu-ray 1080P of the same image. I'll tell you, I really had to enlarge and look VERY closely to see any difference at all. It was VERY close.

Screenshots are meaningless. Kind of like this thread.

Besides, no amount of upconverting can make up for data that ISN'T THERE---especially when there's a perfectly acceptable and available format that actually provides the data. Not to mention that DVD still won't provide high resolution audio...

Ugh. Some threads are made for crapping, and that's just what we'll do.

Do I smell dead meat? Ewww...

The Happening wasn't as bad as people said. Sure there were some terrible actors in the beginning and throughout, but it all went together because it was funny how bad it was. Then, after the bad acting, there were jokes. I actually liked it.

Between creating this thread multiple times and his King Kong threads, I think it might be time for him to move on. Not to mention his talk of how DVD looks superior to Blu-Ray and how he can't tell why Blu-Rays don't look better than the theater...
